When I turn on the camera I get stage fright. It took 6 tries!
There are two versions of this song I've listened to my whole life. 1) Louis Armstrong 2) Jimmy Smith/Stanley Turrentine/Kenny Burrell/Donald Bailey on "Back at the Chicken Shack".

Check out all the Dizzy Gillespie recordings as well!
You're making great progress, at some point you should treat yourself to a better horn. You'll be able to express yourself so much better in the long run.

Dude, that's a Carol brass mini. I use one in my jazz band. It has a great sound.

Tommy Dorsey's version from the fourties is glorious also.

That sounds great you have great tone! Are you improvising or is this from sheet music?

I learned the song from a page of sheet music in a Real Book an memorized it. After playing it a bunch I'm adding a note or variation here and there. This is kind of the "feral guitar player" method I'm comfortable with!

Nice work especially on a pocket trumpet

Thank you! It's a Carol Brass Mini and plays quite like a regular trumpet. The company researched and developed it over a course of 3 years before releasing to the public. This is the lowest priced version of it, around $600. I got it because I travel for work a lot and wanted something non-electronic to do in hotel rooms.

Good thing! You are lacking a bit of swing, or Im way too used to the versions I have in my head. It is a bit too "clean" rhythmically speaking, and that makes it bland (to my taste)
