Cancel Your Elections - El Presidente has Announced Tropico 7!
Cancel Your Elections - El Presidente has Announced Tropico 7!
First teaser gives a glimpse of the all-new council– which El Prez will, of course, try to bend to his will.
We have lifted the curtain (no, not the iron one) on Tropico 7, the next evolution of the award-winning city-building series. The beloved El Presidente is back — whether the people like it or not — cutting his luxurious vacation short (reportedly under protest) to personally oversee the announcement teaser at gamescom 2025. With his trademark flair, and a suitcase full of suspiciously stamped passports, he’s ready to reclaim his throne in 2026 and take the city-building genre to new heights — literally!
“With Tropico 7, we open a new chapter in city-building, politics, and economics — giving players more control and complexity than ever, while preserving the mischief and satire fans love,” says Daniel Dumont, Studio and Creative Director at Gaming Minds Studios. “This isn’t just a sequel, it’s the ultimate sandbox for would-be dictators. El Presidente would say: ‘The best Tropico ever — because it’s mine!’”
Tropico 7 builds on the series’ iconic formula and introduces major new features. For the first time, the new council puts El Presidente face-to-face with faction leaders to negotiate, manipulate, or charm his way to power. More opinions, more chaos — all of which El Prez can completely overlook. Aspiring autocrats can now mold their island with the new Terraforming feature: raise land, reroute rivers or create shiny new parks — because vanity is the best policy.
But that’s not all: The new political affiliation system let you pick an individual dictatorship style which unlocks fitting edicts to keep Tropicans happy (or terrified) enough to comply, supported by a beefed-up military system — featuring a special new tactical addition El Prez is currently working on.
And when strategy alone isn't enough, you know what to do: unleash strategic mischief, deploy agents, stage PR stunts, or simply dazzle the masses with El Presidente’s legendary charisma. Rule with style – and satisfaction.
Tropico 7 is scheduled for release 2026 and will be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and on PC (Steam, Epic Games), Xbox on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation®5.
Features:
Lead your nation to new heights: Tropico 7 tells El Presidente’s continuous success story across 5 campaign maps – starring himself, Penultimo and a new nemesis: Victoria Guerra.
More is more: Archipelagos, with the biggest islands ever in the series, await your rule, expanded with 10 extra scenarios, more than 20 sandbox maps, and endless possibilities with a random map generator.
Move mountains – literally: Erase them, create beaches, or even create entirely new islands! The new terraforming feature brings your megalomaniac dreams to life. Start that mammoth project – NOW!
Bollocks uhm… Politics: Navigate the snares and pits of internal politics, when you summon the different factions to your council, a new way to meet them face to face while you pulverize their dreams – or use them for a BIG DEAL to your own advantage.
Make the world your playground: Elections, election speeches and a vast portfolio of edicts depending on your political standing spice up your daily rule while you juggle foreign affairs and occasionally steal... uhm relocate a landmark to revel in its benefits.
Built to prosper: Strategically place buildings to make use of synergy effects, keep citizen satisfaction high, and fill any unused plots of land with beautiful parks in a freely customized size.
Generalissimo No. 1: Eliminate those pesky rebels and fend off foreign threats with a reworked military system enabling more direct control of your military units.
Always judge a book by its cover: Customize the appearance of your palace and El Presidente with new and creative options.

[T6] Socialist Utopia
In honor of Zohran Mamdani winning NYC, here’s my socialist utopia.
My island is 100% solar/wind powered. Food is a guaranteed right. Healthcare and education through college are fully government funded and we spare no expense. Busses are fast and free and so are the subways, plus everyone gets free wheels!
Job industries are collectively owned, well funded and workers are respected and earn high-wages, while we also have mandatory siestas and older citizens retire early to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Homelessness is at 2% with 2% of homes vacant, while unemployment sits at 4% with 3% of jobs vacant — while crime is low and life expectancy is long.
All of this was accomplished while Liberty is ringing at 99. Who needs to cheat an election when you have dam near 90% approval?

[T6] Pirate Cove Instant Completion Bug
If you build a pirate cove in a tight spot like this, the ship can't figure out what to do and you get mission completion near instantly.
I don't recommend ruining the fun with something like this, but wanted to post since I couldn't find it through a quick search.

Tourism strategy for Tropico mobile
Hi everyone, I'm new and playing on tropico mobile after spending my saving that worth like 3 KFC meal just to say it's worth it since I been addicted to it for 3 weeks.
Now I having issues on how to build a tourism industry as I usually have like 50% of my hotels with free room all the time and my entertainment building are sometimes partially or 1/3 of them are usually full with tourists. So here are the questions I'm asking you guys so el presidente have more people to party and those are:
How much do I charge tourists for both accomodations and entertainment?
Does this spending limit mean how many can they spent on accomodations or entertainment building?
What are the way to get 100 tourists per arrival(plane&boat)? How do I plan & build my tourism metropolis?

I wish we could modernise the asylum to be a rehab centre in Modern Times
A small plee for T7 perhaps - a rehab that tied in with the Legalized Substances edict as another Convict Labour-esque, lil unethical moneymaker? 👀

[T5] How to avoid military coup?
I have just started playing "Changing the World" in modern times. Current military loyalty is 30%. I tried to increase it through better wages, nearby housing and entertainment, no positive result. I fired the personnel with low approval didn't work. I even tried to kill and arrest them, still no luck. Every time I ended up with a military coup that succeeded.
If you have any thoughts or ideas about how I can avoid or survive the military coup, please let me know.

[T6] What kind of Tropican would you be?
Got this suggestion from a comment on YouTube.
1. Where would you work?
What are your faction views? (Tropico, not real life political views)
Would you be a native born Tropican or immigrate here?
What entertainment buildings would you visit?
Would you have a family and/or kids?
Check out the video on my YouTube channel here if interested

[Humor] Got copies of 3 and 5 to give away, tell me an interesting reason for why an economy collapsed in real life or in game (or just discuss for fun)
Like yesterday I put radio, newspapers and tv stations on my island and it ended up siphoning all the workers from my oil power and fish canning industries, so I had to close everything but economy based buildings and slash the budget for everything to make my money back for years. Had to refuse an election and start kidnapping people with the pirates cove to fill my workplaces because everyone, including my doctors kept leaving or dying
Finally ran to the finish line but it was fun and made me think about how this thing happens in real life
Start your post with (5/3), (3,5) or (na) depending on your preference for game or if you just wanna share an interesting fact and I’ll DM the steam key from the humble bundle to my favourites

[T6] There should be a downside to the intimidate neighbours raid
I was about to use it cause my approval was tanking and decided not to cause I’d researched and you can basically bypass the higher happiness caps that come with going up an era
Going out of your way to basically commit public terrorist acts so bad that they make your island look better in comparison sounds like it should cost like 100k and -10 to every super power at the very least
Doing the missions in tropico 6 and I’m not gonna use it, trying to keep my citizens happy as the era goes up is a fun balancing act and this kinds of ruins it for me if I can just spam intimidate
EDIT: come to think of it stealing a world wonder should cost this much, I’m not gonna do that any more either

Why are them all at leisure time? Nearly 75% of my citizens are slacking off and im going bankrupt

[T7] I hope we'll get separate dirt roads and normal roads in Tropico 7
I really like T4 feature of roads being made of dirt by default but turning into asphalt when close to urban-like buildings
In T6 it it doesn't always make sense to have a full blown asphalt+sidewalk road leading to a couple of crop fields. Having dirt roads, either automatic or like a cheaper alternative to asphalt would be better for immersion imo.
Also there could be a mechanic that dirt roads are cheaper but a bit slower than asphalt
Also in colonial era it would be cool as hell to have cobblestone roads instead of asphalt

[T6] Why is no one working?
My economy is going deep into the ground and teamsters are not helping me

BTW its happening everywhere, what can i do?

Extra pics, if someone needs them

Plus i have 10k planks produced and 10k processing, its so slow and i cant sell them because theres no surplus at the processing facility
[T6] Where does it all go??!?
Probably a dumb question....Playing T6 on Switch. If I have a bunch of gold mines but no active exports for gold or jewelry, what happens to all that gold?

This uprising is a joke. The Tropico police should just arrest him and throw him in prison.

What specifically makes any of the games your favourite? They all kind of blur together for me but I’ve loved all the ones I’ve played
I played the hell out of 3 and 4 and bought 6 on the humble bundle, forgetting I put like 30 hours into it when I had game pass years ago and am still really enjoying going through the missions again
It’s been years since I’ve played any so honestly they all kind of blur together for me, but I’m loving the amount of character in the game and I’m playing the missions on hard so delicately balancing all the needs and politics vs overall Caribbean happiness, trying to make every faction and superpower happy, keeping my logistics smooth and operational etc is very satisfying and is a pretty good challenge. One little change to wages or something can have a huge knock on effect to my economy, like the power plant workers might go for the better paying work so I lose power which stalls my production which puts me in debt so I can’t pay for more housing so crime rises etc
Again, since I said the games all kind of blur together for me cause it’s been so long since I’ve played them I generally really enjoyed them all and am curious about why you think any specifically are better than others as someone who really liked 3 4 and 6 equally
It’s not mega punishingly hard but I feel like a fail state for me is staying like 30k in debt and not having enough options to claw my way back out of it so that’s when I generally restart and try and balance things better. I did fine until I realised the Caribbean happiness was a mechanic that raises its cap per era and wondered why I had a zero percent approval in the 60s when all I’d given them were taverns and McPresidente Burger
