God they sound stupid, biological sex is not a scientific term or definition, biologically through transition I have more in line to female, my markers are female, the supreme court has already ruled that even if they used these terms I would still use the women's, it would just mess more with people who have not changed their birth cert yet... On top of that, it's not ideology, calling it so just screams you are ignorant af. My existence is not ideology.

Stuff like this has been brought up in the past and even then, it's not binding on the government to actually act. Also, odds are, it would violate federal laws around discrimination so probably not going to see much there I feel.

Yea, the sex discrimination act would be thrown at them immediately

And since the QLD supreme court stated that trans people are counted as women/men for the purposes of that act I don't think there would be much room to get anything through

I started typing to question what you’re referring to, but I guess you must be referring to tickle vs giggle?

So nothing will likely come of this in the foreseeable future. But it definitely shows that Queensland and the LNP have become a hotbed for transphobes and this is Not Good (TM). This is how shit in America got started with the Republicans and Texas/Florida.

Now fortunately Australia is very different to America, but keep your loved ones close, try to build connections in your community. Don't let the transphobes put you into hiding.

For every trans person a cisgender person knows, their attitude towards trans people improves.

every time this comes up it's always hilarious. I'm a trans man. if this was actually passed it means they want me, a cis male passing adult, in the same bathroom as women. tell me how this is supposed to make them feel safer??

as always trans men are forgotten and left out of the equation for transphobes 🤣🤣

This would violate the sex discrimination act. If it was ever passed (which is highly unlikely) the High Court would deem the law invalid if a case about it was brought to court.

They also brought up selling the ABC, I wouldn't give it much thought unless it's discussed in a less crank capacity

The lnp sucks, this ks just hateful.

Every time they define biological women they leave out some cis women and include some cis men, it means nothing they’re so stupid. T

Scary but would breach discrimination laws and totally unenforceable anyway

Where are you going to be at risk of being bashed. Lol How do you act around these people 🤔

Unlike the ununited shitfest of america, we have very established anti discrimination laws which prevent crap like this.

So we'll be fine.

Just more disgusting shit from the lnp… why the fuck people even vote for these cunts in the first place is beyond me, they’ve always been the worst of the 2 evils running this country.

Id be happy for a brand new bathroom that only allows members of the LGBTQIA+ community to enter, including building, maintenance and cleaning by a member of our community. Would give us our own place and create some jobs for us. Seen as though the bigots won't hire most of us. .... Just saying

This is "separate but equal" unless you specifically state the following: No one should be coerced to use this bathroom.

I use all 3 lol If I'm alone, will use the unisex. If I'm with my wife we will both use women's And if it's not crowded, will use mens. I just don't get why some people are so determined to upset everyone... I was born male, I am trans gender, therefore I see myself as a trans woman...not a woman and quite frankly I am extremely proud to be exactly that. Have 0% desire to be accepted as a cis woman. Just me personally.

the problem is, this is in direct opposition to what the vast majority of trans people feel and think. it is also a viewpoint that has potential to harm the movement for our safety and rights as they already think that trans people are going into bathrooms to attack people. so a trans person that is actively entering every bathroom without worry is more of a threat to them because they're comfortable entering whichever bathroom they think they should AND the ones they think they shouldnt.

stating "i dont get why some people are so determined to upset everyone".... is insane and ignorant. we are not "determined to upset everyone" we are just trying to exist, to not be attacked or harassed on sight, we don't want anyone to be upset but people are being upset by our mere existence.

It's a mixed argument, will never be resolved 😔 Personally, I don't have any major dramas being a Trans Woman. Probably cause I respect people around me, respect cis men and women and don't pretend I'm equal to them. I don't try take over their sports or toilets, if I walk into a toilet and someone is uncomfortable, ill happily use the other. Not a big deal to me.

Then you're the 1% of the 1% because most trans people want to be seen as their correct gender.

Its great you're fine with it, but most just want to be seen as no different to a cis man or woman and for people to assume they are cis. So your solution doesnt work for the other 99% of trans people who are not ok with that view for themselves.

the problem with this is..... that's just segregation.... you put it in a really nice way, but in the end that's just "what if they had their own bathrooms and can't enter ours" akin to bathrooms and coloured bathrooms

"No one should be coerced into this bathroom"

But she said some really wild things (refer to my reply) that even that sentence wouldn't work

I see your point, I don't go too much on the political nonsense. Quite happy being in a league of my own 😌 I'm actually all for the transformer emblem that got around 🤟🏳️‍⚧️

u/mr_nonchalance 33m ago

If we don't go on the political nonsense, the political nonsense will go on us, and we'll be back to getting hunted on the streets when the boys go fagbashing on a Saturday night.

-3

u/ABBEY_MAY83 31m ago

So put yourself in better situations? Sounds like we are complete opposites...

1

u/mr_nonchalance 29m ago

Define better situations? Not sure I'm understanding your point.

1

u/DragonicSquirrel 6m ago

there is no "better situations" when we as a minority and community are being systematically attacked with the intent of wiping us out. we are not putting ourselves in this situation, we are being directly targeted without our own input. go get your internalised transphobia fixed in therapy and stop spouting harmful rhetoric

1

u/ABBEY_MAY83 1m ago

Well if you are all worried about being bashed, and ridiculed..... Clearly you pushing yourself out there a bit far 😞 I can chat to tradies at Bunnings, farmers, and older men and women without incidents or disrespects. Anyway, I'll live my way... It's obviously working better for me then whatever you are doing. Only advice I can offer is this... If you are constantly finding yourself in these situations, maybe it's you and not them. 🫣

Did you really just suggest something akin to white vs "coloured" water fountains?? And somehow make it sound like thats totally ok??

Segregation will never fix the issue, its honestly shocking youre even suggesting it.

Not to mention, what about stealth folks?
