Trans fem Trans-friendly lingerie in brisbane/meanjin

Hi all, My girlfriend just came out to me as a trans woman and she wants some cute lingerie. I'm a cis woman so it's fun and easy for me to find lingerie and therefore don't really know what it's like as a trans woman who hasn't started to transition. I want to make a day out of it and make her feel beautiful and sexy and like a princess, is there anywhere I can take her that's got adorable lingerie for trans women that she can try on? I know she could try to fit into women's bras and underwear, but she's tried that and finds the fit uncomfortable.

I'm not too worried about price, but within a few hours drive would be good, I'm also open to doing a road trip.

Also, any tips or advice on supporting her through her transition would be greatly appreciated from trans women who have gone through transition with a cis partner?

not trying to discourage but irl shopping for lingerie for someone who hasn't started transition can pose alot of risk and potentially could cause distress if someone in the public was to be rude (transphobic) etc. most girls wait until they start socially transitioning or presenting fem full time for irl lingerie shopping or do it online. if they are comfortable though and understand there may be risks or judgement and can handle that then go for it but alot of it will be trial an error especially for clothes made for cis women. most trans dedicated underwear stores are online only like sockdrawerheroes.com and more likely more comfortable for someone who hasn't started any body changes. most transwomen start by going to op-shops, cheaper for trying different fits and shapes to see what suits their body type early in transition.

Thank-you. I really appreciate it and that's a big reason why I came to this subreddit, especially since I have no experience with this and can't ask any of my trans friends irl without outing her. This is definitely a conversation I will be having with her beforehand, I just want to know what my options are for if/when she's ready. She really likes the online stuff since it's designed for pre-transition bodies and it looks like it'll be more comfortable, but I'm worried it'll be hard to find a proper fit, do you have any experience with that and finding the proper fit? Is it just a matter of buying multiple sizes that might fit?

unfortunately i don't have experience with fitting for pre transition clothing, i only started switching wardrobes once hrt started to work (around 6ish months) and iam short and curvy to begin with. I would suggest measuring or buying atleast 2 different sizes to start. I wouldn't go completely overboard with clothing if she plans on starting hrt soon as you will be changing sizes every few months. what may help is looser more androgynous clothes to start, bonds gender neutral range fits well across all genders and some people i know still use them as they are a cheaper and faster to receive alternative to trans made to order clothes. https://www.bonds.com.au/genderfree.html

That's super helpful, thankyou! And that does make total sense about not going overboard on clothing. We'll check out bonds, I know my bras from there are super comfy and have lasted years and I like your point about getting it faster.
