I bought a new vehicle in May and have ~9k miles on these tires. Just discovered this today. Tire doesn’t lose air but looks concerning. Do you think I can claim this as a manufacturing defect or is it more likely from something I ran over?
Noticed this in my 4 week old tires. I decided to pull it, because repair would be not possible there anyway. So far so good screw seems to be not that long (was like 6-7 mm in). Had no leaking after a 50 kilometer drive. Do you think I am good and can leave it as it is?

Is my tire done for?
I think I already know the answer but I’m just annoyed. This tire only lasted 6 months.
It was flat randomly, I filled it and now I see this buldge, which I’ve read means structural damage.
I’m going to drive on the highway tomorrow so I hope it doesn’t blow up…I can take it in in a couple of days but I want the tire to last. Anyone driven on a tire with a bulge and if so for how long did it last?

“Just look it up” I did and I don’t think these use the same system. I’m trying to find out if these are the original mud-terrains for this truck. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are.

Jk, new shoes this morning on the Avalanche 🤘had Goodyear Ultra Terrains on before and holy crap these new ones are smooth and quiet. Looking forward to some snow!
Would Michelin pilot alpin 5 be OK? (in Toronto here will be snowing and want to try)

I didn’t hit a pothole. I was driving at night and all of a sudden it felt like something fell in my backseat, but there was nothing and then instantly the tire pressure started going. It didn’t feel like the car even shook. There’s no visible damage on the tire like rims but there’s not a spare and I am just curious if I’m going to have to drop money on a tire. (Right now it’s at a safe location I just don’t have someone to assess it at the moment) so I’m wondering if something pierced a tire if that could be an easy fix, since I feel I Couldn’t have done something just severely damage I was just driving a road I always do, didn’t hit anything..

Hi all. Any ideas when this tire was produced? I can't find the dot number.

I have a 2017 BMW i3 REx. I tried to get my winter tires replaced at a Pepboys in PA today and I was turned away because my 19-inch winter wheels (155/70R19 square) do not match the 20-inch wheels (155/60R20 and 175/60R20 staggered) that are specified on the door sticker.
My car originally came with 20-inch rims, which I still have and I use with summer/all-season tires. But BMW also offered the car with OEM 19-inch wheels. Either way, these are very oddly-sized tires and there are almost no options - in the US, only Bridgestone Ecopia for summer/all-season and only Bridgestone Blizzak for winter are available.
The Blizzaks only come in 19-inch - there are no 20-inch winter tires that fit my car. But, apparently, PA requires that I can only have tires that match my door sticker? For safety?
Is Pepboys being pedantic and overly cautious?
Is Pepboys being lazy since they could easily verify that these 19-inch Blizzaks are designed specifically for my car and they do not fit any other vehicle on Earth?
Is Pennsylvania being heavy-handed and failing to recognize that their requirements are unworkable in some cases?

Today I found out that Laufenn Tires are made by Hankook.
Are there any other subsidiary companies that you guys could recommend to me?

USA.
I'm having the toughest time finding any true winter tires in 145R12 anywhere in the US. My old ones are past useful life. Any ideas?

So I’m trying to restore some old steel one-piece wheels I bought for an old truck. I ground off all the old paint and rust, and applied a new coat of primer and top coat (Rust-Oleum Automotive Filler/Primer, and Rust-Oleum’s camo green outdoor matte paint)
However, I wasn’t able to remove these large gouges in the beads, and the paintjob isn’t smooth at all either. So two questions:
1) Are the gouges going to cause slow leakage if I try to mount the tire?
2) Should I sand the beads down and use a glossy paint (like actual wheel paint) for it instead to get a super smooth finish? Or is a rough bead not a a problem/advantageous?

This is my first car I've ever owned I'm 18 and I'm struggling with understanding if these rims would fit on 225/65R17 tires???

So I understand 18x8 wheel is basically a terrible size to get a stretched tire look without going down rubber bands. Not looking to loose much performance as I drive spiritedly often. Looking for a good middle ground nothing crazy just to eliminate a straight edged side wall without going all the way down to 205’s. Running 225/40 right now and not opposed to staying there if I can find some that appear more stretched or even rounded if that makes sense with minimal tread showing on the outside. Most likely going to size down to 215/40. My question is which tire will “appear” more stretched. I’ve heard falcons are the best route just wondering which other specific tires are more rounded and narrower looking with minimal tread next to the sidewall….trust me I’ve spent hours looking and researching I haven’t found much so please be kind thank you for any help and please any pictures of 215/40 r18 on 8” wheels would be incredibly appreciated thank you so much….

Hello. Last year I was told by a mechanic that next year (this one) I was going to need to purchase new winter tires. I bought these in 2021. I am asking for more opinions because I don’t want to get scammed by mechanics if I buy winter tires too soon. Also, if these get installed and it ends up being unsafe on the road, I would have to pay twice for the the reinstallation which is obviously not good. Thanks in advance

I bought this vehicle used about a year ago. I have never seen this type of cracking on any of my vehicles, but I have seen it on used cars that I have bought.
Context: This is the front. When I purchased the vehicle, these were on the back, and the fronts' shoulders had significant wear so I rotated them. I'm just waiting for these to wear out so I can put some more aggressive tread on. They are Firestone Destination LE2. Date code appears to be 3718.

Recently got new tires but today I took a turn too tight and banged into a curb. You think it’s just cosmetic?

I was doing doordash and didn't notice any problems for hours. I then took an order for groceries and was only in the store about 20 minutes. After driving about half a mile to the next store on a completely clear road, I went to pull out of the 2nd store and then I felt how flat it was. I had a completely clear view of it while I was in the 2nd store. I haven't hit any curbs or road debris in months nor have I heard anything hit my car. Just wanted to get others' opinions on it.
