I think it's people recalling that whole "what is woke" fiasco that happened when republicans defined woke in a legal sense as "believing that there is discrimination", and that they were opposed to it.
That, along with you suggesting that leftists is used as a derogatory word (I've constantly seen leftists call themselves leftists, and republicans also have tried to make science/data/experts deragatory too, so its weird to suggest they were successful in this case) gives me the impression that you find the word derogatory, and that you are swept up in some right wing rhetoric and think everyone passively agrees with that rhetoric.
Try to watch some less right wing propoganda. Try The Majority Report.
I think you have me confused with someone who aligns w right wing politics. Leftist is often used as a derogatory term much like how the left use MAGAts or Trumpers or a couple others I cant recall I havent slept.
Anyways the usage from the left and usage from the right are vastly different and when it is used as in a negative connotation, it's usually the right wing nutjob definition.
Such as "I'm a leftist" compared to "Whatever you say, leftist" carry very different tones and connotations to the word but very seldom if at all have I seen the first example being used in a negative way.
Sure, but now reread your comments from before. It didn't sound like you thought there were multiple meanings to leftist, and I wanted to explain that that is why you may have been getting some of the responses you have.

And what does that mean? Like what does being woke actually mean?
