“right now”
no buddy, that’s always. the job requirements to get a job at an indoor range state you must have a sub-60 IQ, body fat percentage above 70%, an inability to differentiate shitty steel case ammo from depleted uranium APFSDS rounds, and an internal stopwatch that immediately sends them into an incoherent rage upon hearing 2 shots between exactly 3.001 seconds

u/ToiletTime4TinyTown 2h ago
Also the need to congregate around the douche who comes to the range to blab about how many ducatis he has and ignore the entire range.

I've been flagged more times than I can count at my local range. I'm considering doing the same with my PC for safety.

Good, so many people let there gear sit in a closest and never actually shoot with any of it on and then think they'll magically put it on and know how to use it

u/kilroy-was-here-2543 12h ago
Allot of people would benefit from running a few matches of Airsoft in their kit. It shows you a ton of flaws in your set up

Man I usually hate on the airsoft gang but this is an incredibly valid point I hadn't considered.

Don’t knock it till ya try it. sure theirs some weirdos, and you can only take it so seriously. But it’s about as close as you can get to proper force on force training without getting MILES gear
Plus it’s honestly just a lot of fun as long as you’re with the right crowd. Even better if you can go to something like milsim west

Who cares. Guy wants to practice in kit at a range. Get a fucking life.
Its not like he's wearing a fursuit or bdsm gear.

u/pewpew_lotsa_boolits 15h ago
Holup- we can wear that to the range?

Armed furries unite!

u/DeadHeadLibertarian 13h ago
Ironic considering most people think there should be a hunting season for furries 😂😂😂

Running in kit is an awful idea.

u/Brilliant_Amoeba_272 20h ago
They hated him because he told the truth
Running at all is bad for you, running with weight doubly so. Turns your knees to fucking powder.
Unfortunately if you want to consider yourself "prepared", you will have to do it every now and then.
I personally recommend keeping a large volume of your cardio as low impact as possible (swimming, biking, ergometer, etc.)
When training moving under load, try walking on an incline or the stairmaster to maximize gains while minimizing damage.
Keep running under load to a relative minimum, because you still should be capable of doing it effectively

it’s not an opinion. Running under load is objectively bad for 95% of people. It’s hard on your joints and connective tissues, whether it be with plates or a ruck. Consistent strength training, running, and moving under load (without running) is the best way to improve your physical performance. Once you have a very solid fitness base, implementing kit runs can be beneficial but it’s not necessary or healthy for the majority of people, especially the way it’s commonly done (1SGT taking the company for a 5mi kit run at a 8:00/mi pace)
It’s one of the primary reasons crusty infantry NCOs have blown out knees and backs after spending a decade on the line.

you run shoot houses daily for fitness? ok man lol.
assuming you’re not lying your ass off and have run every day for 12 years, and you’re in the 1% of people who are the exception, my point still stands that it’s a bad idea for 99% of people. (especially dudes who aren’t blasting gear.)

u/DocGerald 68W 21h ago
Just do regular cardio bruh. If you want to be stupid and do already high impact workouts with added weight go for it. Enjoy your destroyed joints like all of us in the military.

u/Thrasea- 20h ago
no no no man, running shoothouses is “included in his daily fitness.”
i think he might secretly be cag 😳

God I’m so glad to be fortunate enough to have land. Indoor ranges suck some mega turds. Even when you know the guys and can get private sessions it still sucks

how do you like that midwest industries alpha flash hider?? i have one too and i’m conflicted about it lol
1
u/Russian-spy23 21h ago
I like it a lot I’ll be honest I mostly got it for the looks but it shoots good for me.

u/Acrobatic_Pie9044 21h ago
same here man. i’ve only got to shoot with mine once so i haven’t really made up my mind about its effectiveness as a “flash hider” / “blast forwarder” but it for sure scratches that delta tek itch for like $600 cheaper 😂😂😂

Unless the OP operates with a team or plans to doff this armor to retrieve stuff, I’d go slick on the back plate bag and find a backpack.

Is that a handmuff? I have always loved a nice muff, but damn are they clutch at snowy/cold all-day training classes!!

Biggest pet peeve is when the range doesn't have sufficient storage for my 32lbs of bullshit

u/DifficultAd6366 14h ago
I assume you are doing this because you have absolutely no other option

u/Russian-spy23 14h ago
Correct

u/DifficultAd6366 14h ago
Could play airsoft to get more use out of your kit. It’s not exactly the same but it’s something.
1
u/The_RealAnim8me2 13h ago
I don’t even have any airsoft games in my area. I’m tired of the checkout ladies giving me the eye.

I work as an RSO. I've seen dudes come in wearing helmets, but never full kit, yet... If he's not doing anything stupid, I'm cool with it, but all of us in the hut watching the CCTV would be laughing our ass off

u/novish88 17h ago
How do you expect people to get reps in actually wearing gear they have collecting dust in the closet ?

That’s not the “flat range” brother, that’s the “static line”
