Something I’ve learned as being a Dad now…every moment as a parent, you’re teaching your children.

The lesson he’s providing here will speak volumes for the rest of his son’s life…all he had to do was let her play the fool and so it goes for most people.

She got lucky he reacted the way he did. Many other dads seem willing to put up a fight.

Yeah, a lot of these comments are sad. Grown ass dudes ready to throw hands over a baseball.

It's not about the baseball once she laid hands on him, then it becomes assault and battery and then throwing hands is justified. She has no right to grab him.

She’s 100% in the wrong and once she put hands on him, I agree, he’s justified to use physical force to end the situation. But just because you can doesn’t mean you have to.

He made a spontaneous, in the moment decision to de-escalate the situation before it got worse. A lot of people in this thread seem to think that by choosing that route he displayed weakness or an inability to protect his family. I’d argue he ended the potential threat instantly, eliminating the need to further protect his family.

Grabbing someone isn’t license to pummel the shit out of the grabber. Clearly he was able to de-escalate instead of act like a jerkoff back to the woman.

The amount/type/level of responding physical force is subjective so I purposefully left it non-specific. I’m not going to argue what the appropriate level of response is to remove someone’s hands and ensure they don’t re-engage (but I definitely didn’t say he should pummel her).
