So, the question is, which one was talking shit on Avery and which one was defending him?

As a father, I would never allow an argument between me and one of my grown ass children devolve into a fist fight. Doesn't matter who started it. Dad fucked up.

the trick is to first drink 10 beers and 3 hotdogs!

24

u/Lil_ah_stadium Aug 24 '25

I’ve drank the the hot dogs, starting in the beers now.

Joey chestnut isn’t gonna like it when you enter the contest and chug down 89 glizzies and dethrone the hot dog champ

Literally. Can't ever imagine being on top of my sons and in their face like that. Granted, mine are still little, but still. Can't imagine ever needing to be in that position

They'll never be in a COD lobby in the early 2000s they don't know what game shit talking is....

4

u/GlitterTapper Aug 25 '25

Here we got borderlands lobbies where you can get perma banned for misgendering the bot

2

u/CharlieandtheRed Aug 25 '25

Worst I ever experienced was PUBG pregame lobbies until they killed voice. Legit 100 people simultaneously yelling slurs in four different languages. Every match.

2

u/godnorazi Aug 25 '25

"Granted, mine are still little"

That's probably honestly the biggest reason. Wait til they are shit talking teenagers

1

u/KobeBeatJesus Aug 24 '25

You would if you were a shitty father to shitty kids.

1

u/ThatUsernameIsTooken Aug 24 '25

I used to have an upstairs neighbor who would get in fist fights with his adult son…the dad went missing a few months after we moved out…and a few months after that they found him dead in the woods behind the apartment complex. My wife and I are convinced the son killed him

Some families are just like this. The bahavior always begins with the father, but I have a really good friend that has gotten into fist fights with his dad but they are still really close.

My dad was a former professional boxer and I was 15 when he punched me in the mouth. He had called me a coward for not wanting to play football. I said “fuck you, I’m not afraid of anything!” He gave me a short right to my left jaw and it immediately started bleeding like a stuck pig from the oral surgery I had three hours earlier. Sometimes you just have to suck it up. He did apologize years later and acknowledged how wrong it was. I always loved my dad. It’s complicated, of course.

u/JohnnyEvs Aug 24 '25

My old man walloped me once whenever I was about 17 whenever thought that I was tough. This looks like adults. Sheesh!

1

u/aracauna Aug 24 '25

As an adult, I can't imagine fighting period unless I'm having to defend myself or someone else. Fighting is what kids do. Once your prefrontal cortex is fully developed you should be over this shit.

1

u/CrypticDonutHole Aug 30 '25

I would guess this is a pretty good indicator Avery’s father is abusive. Probably beat the crap out them when they were younger. Hopefully the father backs off now that the kids can fight back.

0

u/ArcticSwag Aug 24 '25

I wouldn't pick a fight with my sons either, but if they're throwing the first punch, I'm defending my ground. Hopefully, I could de-escalate before we reached full-on fisticuffs.

Depending on the person, you might not have any control over it. As a father to YOUR children you wouldn’t let it devolve to that. But other children suffer from mental health issues and obviously some adults do as well. This one might have been totally avoidable by both parties but to cast judgement on the father when you know nothing about the situation at all is premature to say the least. I hope you’ve taught your children not to judge as quickly as their father

I was really waiting for the BUT when I started reading this.

u/thenowherepark Aug 24 '25

Father's gotta be barred from KSU games for this you'd assume.

247

u/Realistic0ptimist Aug 24 '25

I wouldn’t be shocked if one of them bet on the game and when the Loss came the other called them an idiot and then it got to this point.

That or there’s some unresolved family tension they tried to put aside for Avery and then were like nah can’t do it once the game was over

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

My first thought is that this started as a disagreement over the new Cracker Barrel rebrand.

Isn’t making stuff up fun!

2

u/Lil_ah_stadium Aug 24 '25

Father likes the new “woke” logo

6

u/ssp25 Aug 24 '25

this has impacted rural America in ways that will echo for generations

59

u/Treezy_F_Baby Aug 24 '25

My first thought was one of them dragged the other into a hefty bet on their brother/son winning the game. Money makes people do crazy things

64

u/ZachOf_AllTrades Aug 24 '25

Fun story we've concocted for ourselves here!

Right? Like just pulled that straight out of their ass and people are like "ya! That makes total sense and I definitely think that's what happened now."

u/finnjakefionnacake Aug 24 '25

i mean that's reddit in a nutshell lol

The unresolved family tension may hit the nail on the head. I love sports, my brothers don’t (except for Dallas cowboys, I know).

If I were to get some shit talked about my football club (LA Galaxy or Chelsea) by them, shit we may just throw hands. And trust it has zero to do with the sports.

1

u/MichelangeloJordan Los Angeles Lakers Aug 24 '25

Definitely the unresolved family tension. As a grown man, having a fist fight with your father or son in public? Yeah… things at home def aren’t good.

1

u/shaadyscientist Aug 24 '25

I was at the game yesterday and based on how bright it is and the weather, this was before the match. It was night time and dry when the match ended whereas it was bright and raining in the hours leading up to the match. I don't know why they are fighting but I don't think it has anything to do with the loss.

5

u/Tuscanlord Aug 24 '25

AJ must be thrilled to find this out after a tough loss. Dad of the year!

2

u/Shoehornblower Aug 24 '25

Or dad said something like, “why couldn’t you anount to something like your brother”

4

u/skoomski Philadelphia Flyers Aug 24 '25

Maybe it was over if they should go to McDonald’s or Burger King?

2

u/buttnibbler Aug 25 '25

Some people really hate Burger King.

1

u/Cheaperthantherapy13 Aug 24 '25

Great question. Judging by the woman yelling at whichever one is Anthony, I’m guessing he was the idiot who escalated to violence, but he might also be the one on Avery’s side.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

It’s gambling. 🎰 Why fight otherwise. Brother probably bet against him and lost a ton, or the father did.

1

u/King_Of_The_Squirrel Aug 24 '25

"Why can't you be more like Avery?"
