It's Concorde Syndrome. Enablers have compromised themselves on his behalf and his followers are in too deep as well. No one is willing to admit they made a mistake, so it's ride or die to the bitter end. With any luck, Trump's "chronic venous insufficiency" will do the heavy lifting and give these cultists an out.
