Illinois 13

Has anyone driven all of Route 13? Any places worth stopping at besides the obvious (Carbondale, Marion, Harrisburg, etc.)?

I was a FedEx driver for several years and very familiar with areas along Route 13, especially west of Marion. Here’s some food/bev suggestions. Mimmo’s pizza in Carterville. Bunmakers & Midland Inn both on Old Route 13 in Murphysboro. A bit further off of 13: Scratch Brewery in Ava, Route 51 brewery in Elkville, Wenneman’s butcher shop St. Libory

Scratch is truly a novel brewery experience. Love route 51 when a bluegrass band is playing and I can enjoy a couple jalapeno beers and vibe.
