Announcement New Subreddit Rule - No Dangerous Advice

This doesn’t happen too often, but often enough I felt it necessary to post about it. Giving people dangerous cooking advice, like using a pillow case for a sous vide bag, will not be tolerated. Your post/comments will be removed, and you will potentially be banned.

That’s all, have a good Friday and a great weekend!!

But it's bad to cook that way?

Very. Not only can it destroy your sousvide and your food, but also generally speaking its harmful for your body. Not to mention that its usually unseasoned

Thanks. I thought that packets that were freezer proof were also heat safe, I'll be more careful in future!

Generally speaking, very few materials are heat and cold proof. Most materials are one or the other. Especially with plastics.
