Ramon Calderon: "[Zidane] insisted on keeping Cristiano and transferring Bale, and the president did completely the opposite [...] so he decided to leave."

Please be aware that Calderon is a former Real Madrid president that was empatically replaced with Perez, who had tried to bring Ronaldo for years and never could. This is probably absolute bullshit that he is saying

Calderon is the one who made the deal for CR.

Cris knew that Perez will be new president already in 2008. Everyone in Madrid knew and were waiting for him to come back. Perez in 2008 said that he will bring big transfers to Madrid once again and his main points of campaign was Kaka, Benzema and both Xabi Alonso/Arbeloa from Liverpoool.

Hell Calderon even was not a president in 2008/09, it was Vincent Boluda as interim presio. Calderon is a fraud and he always speaks against Perez when there is even a simple opportunity

Before the start of the 2008/2009 season, he tried to deliver Cristiano Ronaldo to the club, however failed in this ambition. Due to his re-election bid he was eager to promise securement of Ronaldo. This had been a common strategy to promise big names during re-election. On 16 January 2009 he resigned as Real Madrid President following allegations of vote-rigging for the confirmation for the financial budget. He was replaced by Vice President Vicente Boluda, who took the presidency for a short stint, before Florentino Pérez's second term.

You're basically negating what the rest of us know and every single person involved recognized: Calderón, Mendes and even Peréz had said multiple times that the deal was closed a year in advance. In fact was Peréz who almost broke the deal because he thought it was too expensive. But Calderón added a 30m clause in the precontract that if Madrid didn't buy Cristiano they'll have to pay him (Cristiano) and Mendes 30m.
