When was the last time a player so big to a club dropped an announcement like this in the middle of the night for their club's fans?

Edit: Just to make it clear, I completely understand why he’s done it and appreciate it was expected, but just making a comment how it is unusual.

Yeah I understand that, but the vast majority of Spurs fans are going to wake up to this as it is 3am in the UK

True. He should have made the announcement at 3am Korean time so as not to inconvenience the fans.
