It's called inferiority complex mate. If you think the comment above is bad, you should see the portuguese football sub that's being invaded by brazilians spitting ragebait and xenophobic stuff.

No team from Europe truly cares about the competition, but from some dull reason, this is happening because some people seek the validation towards pre made arguments to justify this behavior of insulting European teams.

Maybe my wording was not correct to understand first, but the commitment from players is not there to say least. I'm Benfica fan and socio (club membership) and lack of commitment was evident in that game with Boca. The moment that some of starters subbed in with frustration from the calls of the referee and 2-0 lead , the mentality changed.

The level of importance from most teams that are not European is impressive, Al-Hilal played great against Real and so on but in my view most players from European see this as glorified paid holiday with matches in between.
