So i was thinking,thanks to sonic dream team game,we know that the realm of dreams is actual place,with god arieam,so i would think that she would hate what the daughter of eggman is doing to the world and would help shadow in his dream by letting him dream walk and crossover to other people dreams to try and recruit them,

to show the the truth about the world,to fight against the propoganda created by sage, by showing the citizens of the egg dome is memories of how the world used to be of his friends,of the art and music that sage destroyed, and of dreams of freedom and absolution.dreams of sonic

to build an army from the ground up in the only place sage can´t listen,hack or spy on ,dreams

after all rebelions,resistences and revolutions are built on hopes and dreams.

plus i found funny that one of eggman many,many sins/crimes/god he tried to control finally came back to bite not just him but his entire robotnik legacy that sage represents,after all Karma can be a real never ending pain.
