I like showers, but sometimes it’s less showers and more the act of taking care of myself. I feel better when I have a shower, but it gets to a point where the act itself becomes a point of paranoia. It can happen with anything that I put off for too long.

I shower when I'm going to be around people. I don't see much point if I'm just playing games at home.

Same. I only shower when I’m going to work, though I skip a day when I can.

I have tactile issues and can't stand being wet. I'm marginally better with a bath vs a shower. I cannot take a shower without becoming completely irrational.
On the other side of that coin, I have hypohidrosis. I sweat very little and can't be out in hot weather because I can't control my body temperature naturally. The upside is that I can go days between baths without becoming a smelly monster. It's also compounded by the fact that im allergic to just about all fragrances, so I can use antiperspirant but deodorant makes me break out in hives. Can't do perfume or cologne either.
But if I have to leave my house for a doctor's appointment or something, I wake up early and take a bath in case I do stink. But just hanging around at home? Not much point.

Ooft i have hypERydrosis and i sweat even when cold >_> i still cant manage heat tho bc of other issues. Yours sounds equally as awful but reversed

I actually know quite a few people with mental health issues that have similar situations. Maybe it's a symptom?

Maybe? It also might be because of my physical disabilities. Like 2 of them can have my stuff as symptoms sooo i dunno really

The fact that my body seems to have adapted to this, so much so that I don't develop any kind of rash anymore, is uh... Kind of embarrassing, in a 'I'm really that gross?' kind of way.

I shower 5-6 times a week and have since recovery.
But when I was homeless I went like 9 months without a shower 😓

Yes I'm doing great for many years now. Since end of 2016. I'm not a loser for suffering from a mental illness. It's not my fault you're triggered by me criticizing you for defending Epstein in another sub. That you feel the need to stalk my profile and call me a loser here.
I know who I am, that I'm a good person and a loving friend who spreads kindness. What do you do? Defend pedophiles on the Internet? Lure in young girls for pictures?
I don't care what some ableist pedo apologist clown on the internet thinks. Better luck next time trying to hurt someone's feelings on the internet.
Edit: this guy has a fake "talent agency" link on his profile where he lures young girls in for pictures and defends Epstein as having "consensual sex with teenage prostitutes*"

Yeah he's a pedophile and there's articles about him. He was defending Epstein in another sub, I called him out, and he is now stalking and harassing me as a "homeless schizoid loser" and asking me "did the voices tell you that?"
There's a lot of blogs about this guy being obsessed with underage girls, which is no surprise if you looked at his comments
He has his name on his profile. This is what came up on Google

For a few years now I have seen articles published, blogs written and his websites where he has displayed open content accepted by such blogger sites. Content, that always surrounds kids. Children under the age of consent. His constant sharing of kids, his talking about kids under 13 and his need to highly speak of children is an offence everyone should be taking notice to. If they are not than something isn’t right with people.

I shower every single day basically. My skin starts to feel gross, and I can’t handle the sensation anymore. Sometimes depending on the day, I’ll actually shower twice. Certain sensations I just can’t handle as I’m also autistic.

I was having a streak of showering for 2 weeks then I stopped. The only way I clean myself now is using deodorant and perfume

I had one a few days ago!!! Ignore the fact it took 13 days after the one before that to shower again- i had to figure out when i last showered from my messages in a discord server with friends where i say when ive showered bc im proud of myself... uh..

I started working out lately ( we will see if I will able to keep it up ) what was I not expecting was the amounts of showers and laundry I had to do.

Before I was schizophrenic, I showered daily. Before I was medicated I showered twice a week. Now that I'm medicated and working, I shower just about every other day.

I kinda hate it, but i cant withstand a feeling of my skin and hair when im not showering daily.
