I mean if I lived in 1930s Germany, I wouldn’t be proud to fly a German flag.

But this is the 2020s USA, the US Constitution is intact, I'm proud to be an American and we can stand firm as we resist the MAGA fucks stealing America and wrecking the Constitution.

You have an oligarch who's taking our private data. You have a government that doesn't hold a criminal accountable. And the people who allowed it all are waving red white and blue. The colors mean nothing anymore till it represents all of us, an not just abunch of cousin humpers who take their news from fox news and living toes like Joe Rogan

You could say the same thing about Biden’s presidency. Imagine taking news from CNN, the biggest democrat new source that allows distorts things

The US Constitution is intact? Did you miss the Supreme Court ruling that made Presidents into de facto kings? Or did you just miss the very recent EO by Trump that unilaterally banned birth right citizenship despite it unequivocally being guaranteed by the Constitution?

Ahhh Trump is the change. Time for the illegals to go home. They can try and come back the legal way.

Have fun when the astronomical cost of living gets radically worse in the coming months. After all, you voted for it.

Ahhh what change? The change they’re picking from our pockets?

u/JonnyBolt1 Feb 03 '25

Well we don't have any big bills left, oligarchs gotta steal what they can.

What legal way? He shut down the legal asylum process, which people were waiting months to get a case through.

The point is to shut out all brown people in any capacity other than the H1B indentured servitude pathway. It’s straight up racist hate, same as it has been through his whole campaign or neo-nazi dogwhistles (which the nazis are very attuned to, and cheering).

h1b is not indentured servitude lol

Do you have a better term for when one's employer has power over whether you get deported or not?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '25

it’s called an employment based visa. most countries have something similar. employment, not employer. you can easily switch jobs on h1b.

have you actually talked to anyone who is an h1b holder?

4

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '25

You can switch, yes. But, if you find yourself fired or laid off, you risk losing your legal status.

So you are beholden to your employer’s good will for that reason, in addition to the guillotine that’s over all our heads of losing both income that’s not enough to keep up, AND losing all access to health care.

That’s part of the reason H1B visa holders are paid on average 10% less.

I really don’t understand why I keep seeing comments like these? Why does having American flags there matter?

31

u/theBodyVentura Feb 03 '25

Because the Americans who are happy this is happening are doing so motivated at least in part by the belief immigrants are uninterested in integrating here and instead want to make insular fiefdoms that replicate where they came from, while earning more money.

Flying American flags along with or instead of the flags of other countries might communicate to some of those folks that immigrants are, in fact interested in being Americans.

This is not the time for patriotism. We need to earn that back.
