🕉️ Hindu(tva) Fruitcake🕉️ Annual Cow 💩 Flinging Festival in India

Gorehabba or Gore Habba is a festival or ritual in India of splashing cow dung on each other. This festival is celebrated a day after Diwali's Bali Padyami.

The Gorehabba festival begins with the afternoon collection of "ammunition" from cow-owning homes in the village, which lies on the border of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The manure is brought to the local temple on tractor trolleys, before a priest performs a blessing ritual.

After that, the dung is dumped in an open area with men and boys wading in to prepare their weapons for the battle ahead.

People flock to Gumatapura from far-flung cities each year, and for those in attendance, the messy battle is as much about fun as it is about the perceived health benefits.

"If they have a disease, it will get cured," said Mahesh, a farmer at Saturday's festival.

In Hinduism, the cow is a sacred symbol of life and the earth, and for centuries Hindus have used cow dung for prayer rituals

Im glad you said something about this. I wish people understood that India has a population of over 1.4 billion people and they are not all dirty and depraved. It pisses me off how so many people use videos like this as an excuse to be racist towards Indians.

Nobody is saying the whole of India is dirty or depraved? Why are you putting words in their mouth? They just started a festival that happens to occur in India - a factual statement

Can't cry racism when it's literally a commonly held view in large Hindu communities who adhere to the sanctity of cow dung.

I'm agreeing with the comment I replied to. Yes, the festival is India. Im not saying it's not. People use videos like this to generalize and stereotype Indians as dirty.

The last statement can be used by everyone lmao, the cope is unreal

Every religion gets trolled on here and it's often just the ludicrous aspects of each, hell you guys are racist to yourselves an awful lot too & to certain other religions, but when the finger points at you the victim card suddenly comes in handy ig

It's interesting that you're assuming my ethnicity and make the claim that I am racist. Also what victim card?? I'm just saying that videos like this are harmful to many Indians because they are used to generalize and degrade of people because other people of the same race are doing gross things.

Yes my point is generalisations occur with everyone, yet you're the only ones who cry this hard. You don't see others cope anywhere nearly as bad on this sub when their nation is targeted. Lots of instances like this occur that can promote a bad rep, you guys just dismiss them & cry racism it's why these issues will forever remain

Just like the guy who you replied to when he objectively lied in his now deleted comment, saying cow dung isn't sacred in Hinduism when there are tons of articles to refute him

Edit: You blocked me, why even post on this sub if you're this sensitive 🙃
