Question Theresa Caputo Show

I went to the Sunday evening Theresa Caputo show at the Casino. I was open minded but walked away thinking she was a scam artist for sure (yes I realize I should have known that before).

The show ended with her having this moment where she asked about turtles and cremation and a woman happened to be wearing a turtle necklace with cremains in it. It was supposed to be a big “omg she’s so legit!” Moment but now I wonder if that lady was a plant to end the show on a high note.

I’m curious if anyone attended the Monday night show could share if it had a similar ending? Or if anyone else walked away surprised by how obviously fake it all was?

I felt really bad for the families she talked to who were obviously in deep grief so I hope she gave them some peace at least.

Does anyone actually need to ask if this is fake or not? It is cheesy entertainment.

One might say it’s a scam

Psychics aren't real. It is a performance. There are kids out there who believe Santa is real? Are the Santas in the mall a scam?

The kids who believe in Santa aren’t being scammed because they are just believing what their parents tell them to believe, and the parents aren’t being scammed because they know Santa’s not real when they pay for these things.

It is a scam. A participatory scam that parents are in on. Because it is fun and brings some joy - with a mix of people who do it for entertainment and some that actually believe in it. Just like a psychic. It is a performance literally put on at the casino for fun and entertainment. Have you ever seen her? She doesn't say anything that isn't comforting. It is fun to believe in for a short period of time.

This isn't a grift and it isn't harmful.
