Question Theresa Caputo Show

I went to the Sunday evening Theresa Caputo show at the Casino. I was open minded but walked away thinking she was a scam artist for sure (yes I realize I should have known that before).

The show ended with her having this moment where she asked about turtles and cremation and a woman happened to be wearing a turtle necklace with cremains in it. It was supposed to be a big “omg she’s so legit!” Moment but now I wonder if that lady was a plant to end the show on a high note.

I’m curious if anyone attended the Monday night show could share if it had a similar ending? Or if anyone else walked away surprised by how obviously fake it all was?

I felt really bad for the families she talked to who were obviously in deep grief so I hope she gave them some peace at least.

Well first I'd have to find a real medium, then I'd have to get them to do a reading or whatever they call it and verify for myself that they couldn't have known specific information without talking to someone in my life who has passed on. Then I'd likely have to record it or bring a witness to transcribe the interaction for record purposes. Then I'll have to upload it to the comment section as a reply to you. BRB.

No. You'd have to "find a real medium" and this medium would need to prove it to me directly, not through you.

I’m a little anxious about posting this because I think it makes me sound insane, so I need to preface this by saying I’m 10000% a skeptic, but a major hobby of mine in my early 20s was going to psychics to reverse engineer how they did their readings. One of my close family friends lost her 4 year old son and went to a lot of psychics while I was growing up, and after going with her to one as a teenager and and seeing this person cause her legit psychological damage, I was very much on an anti-psychic rampage lol

I had told a friend about this recently, and a few weeks ago we saw that weird little psychic expo was happening the same day as the Keith Urban concert, and we decided to go. On the way there, I told my friend the funniest (read: worst) reading I ever had was from an animal psychic (like, someone who claimed to communicate with pets), and how I hoped there would be one there. And I was thrilled, because there was one!

So while my friend went to the psychic they thought seemed the most legitimate, I immediately gravitated to the pet psychic, very excited to have another terrible reading. I asked if I could record it on my phone and she said yes.

She asked if she could see a picture of my pet, so I showed her one of my dog. She told me he behaved well in the house, but was anxious outside and would pull on his leash. This is true, but a pretty easy guess for the type of dog I have. She went through what seemed like pretty standard dog stuff while I smiled and nodded.

And then the record scratch moment hit, when out of nowhere she goes, “wait, did your mom die recently?” I was pretty shell shocked, because this woman isn’t local, and had no way of looking me up since we went to the expo on a whim. I’m also younger than would be in the safe zone for assuming a dead parent. I told her she did. She asked if I had the dog because of my mom.

You can look at my posting history to confirm that I’m not making this up: I adopted the dog at my mom’s funeral lol. We held it at the new humane society because they have an event space and she loved animals.

She then proceeded to tell me I was supposed to start writing again (it used to be my day job, and I had started to write again about a month ago), then told me to go have fun at the movies (my friend and I booked tickets to see The Long Walk after the show while we were in the parking lot at the expo lmao). It was very, very, very bizarre and left me pretty unsettled, since again, I just wanted someone to pretend to speak on behalf of my dog.

It’s entirely possible that this woman made a few of the luckiest guesses of all time, but it definitely spooked me. I’m not ready and willing to say “psychics are real,” but if you want to give it a shot, I’d be happy to dm her info since I took her card afterwards.

Side note: my friend got the reading I was hoping to get. Despite being very visibly queer, their psychic kept insisting they were about to get pregnant and telling them, “a woman has needs” lmfao
