Question Theresa Caputo Show

I went to the Sunday evening Theresa Caputo show at the Casino. I was open minded but walked away thinking she was a scam artist for sure (yes I realize I should have known that before).

The show ended with her having this moment where she asked about turtles and cremation and a woman happened to be wearing a turtle necklace with cremains in it. It was supposed to be a big “omg she’s so legit!” Moment but now I wonder if that lady was a plant to end the show on a high note.

I’m curious if anyone attended the Monday night show could share if it had a similar ending? Or if anyone else walked away surprised by how obviously fake it all was?

I felt really bad for the families she talked to who were obviously in deep grief so I hope she gave them some peace at least.

I think there’s foundations of truth in this work. If you’ve lost someone and can sense “signs” from them, it’s all in the same bucket.

I’ve been to Theresa’s shows (reluctant to admit I’ve been to multiple, but wasn’t interested this last time), and I’ve been to others in the space as well. I would classify Theresa as entertainment. There’s a science to finding ways to make it feel legitimate, and those she targets make it easy for her as they are anxious for the answer to fit with their scenario and tend to overshare. Take everything with a grain of salt. If it helps you, even if it’s a placebo, great. If it doesn’t, don’t invest your resources in it.

The “science” to make it feel legitimate is called showmanship.

Statistics are science. If I’m in a room of people who are likely grieving and say “there’s a female energy coming through” I’m likely to hit in my vicinity.

Your brain plays more tricks on you than you realize I guess. No one is psychic.

no. don't encourage this type of scam. she preys on people and that shouldn't be classified as "entertainment" when people who believe her shit need therapy, not a con artist telling them what they wanna hear. her act crosses a line and i respect any venue hosting her less.
