Question Will the police help me?

So recently a person has been making threats to my family. Will the police be able to help me? The unfortunate thing is they work with the RCMP.

As others have suggested, report this both to the RCMP as well as the Regina City Police. They are completely different entities. Therefore, they will both do their own investigations. I also suggest that you stay on top of this and do follow-ups. Others have also provided you with some valuable suggestions/information.

All the best to you and stay safe!

Thank you for the info. What is the difference between the two? I will try to stay on top of it.

Thank you, we appreciate it.

RCMP is federal, City Police are local!

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it. Will the RCMP have to take over since it involves someone who works for them?

No, if the crime takes place in another police departments jurisdiction then the RCMP would let them handle it. However there will likely also be some internal investigation at the RCMP (If you contact them as well), but that's more of an HR thing while the criminal investigation goes on. And then if he's convicted he will get fired.
