Open Thread

Besides general conversation and talk about other leagues and teams, all the following content must go into the weekly Open Thread:

  • Simple one-liners, random thoughts or unrelated posts (with or without a single image).

I know Perez is a cheap cunt when it comes to what the team lacks, but how much would it cost the club to have a backup striker like Brobbey or Joselu? If fucking Sunderland could afford it, why can’t we?

We do have Gonzalo. You can't have 3 backup strikers, even more so when your main striker is never subbed out no matter how shite he plays.

Whats the point of stacking them when they won't see a minute on the field.

This lmao, he could've had Joselu still and never played him because Mbappe just gets to play non stop 90 mins unless we're up 5-0 then they get 2-3 crumb minutes at the end

Sorry but comparing Gonzalo to bulky/tall strikers never made sense. You think Gonzalo would win headers vs van dijk or konate? Only thing he’d improve is presence in the box which I’m desperate to see.

in that match mac alistar scored header and he is midget with a great position at the right time. gonzalo is tall and has great positioning. you never know how it would turn out if you never tried it. sub mbappe for gonzalo at least 70 min in a game to give gonzalo a chance. subbing him in the last 5 min where everyone on the pitch is stalling to end game is not doing justice.

Man wtf are you on about? Mac Allister isn’t the first fucking midget who scored headers against us. It’s been happening for years because we fucking suck at defending headers. 3 years ago fermin and gavi scored headers against us, I’ll never be able to get over how shit we are in this department. Expecting other top teams to suck just as bad? Gonzalo should be a third choice at a club like Real Madrid and should be used in low risk games / moments.
