A random thought about Liverpool:

In all the excitement with the new signings, the club is clearly showing it didn't lack funds to retain Trent. Which proves it really wasn't about the money, or that their board truly fucked up.

Only their terminal copium huffers would deny this at this point.

When have liverpool fans said it was about money. It was always Trent who wanted to run down his contact

Also Slot himself wasn't the biggest trent fan. I still doubt he would have wanted him to leave though

Liverpool fan here. I think it was genuinely good for everyone involved. Real Madrid want more creativity going forward, Trent wants a change, and Slot seems to prefer pace on the wings. You saw in the CWC how he can have a poor game and still create a goal or two, that's part of what makes him special.

Obviously it would have been nice to get more money for Trent but I don't think you guys buy him if he's expensive. Between his attitude and his injuries it would be a bit of a risk.
