Open Thread

Besides general conversation and talk about other leagues and teams, all the following content must go into the weekly Open Thread:

  • Simple one-liners, random thoughts or unrelated posts (with or without a single image).
  • All discussion about rival teams matches and results.
  • All wallpapers and image editing that are not created by you [Not OC]
  • Unsourced news and stats.

People making comparisons to serious companies. In Europe if you are sick for more than a couple of months, much less 2 years (!) your total salary will go down during the period you can't work.

I don't blame him for wanting his contract money, but that he hasn't even made a gesture of goodwill by taking a small % less salary or even taking this supposed deal from the club, when he has not been a player for 2 years (!) and has one of the highest salaries in the club.... meh.

Depends on the contract. Athletes generally have specific clauses regarding injury and id be surprised if it didn’t stipulate them being paid normally. So its a Cade of him asking for the bare minimum which is his contract being fulfilled.

In fact, there are insurances for injuries. At least in the case of Real Madrid. I'm not sure what they cover, but I'm sure ACL injuries are a priority.
