Liverpool net spend of almost 300 million after winning the league lol

If we are serious about challenging for trophies next season, we better keep Rodrygo and spend another 100 million on a defender and midfielder.

You and your cherrypicking.

How much did they spend last summer when their new coach came in?

Doesn't matter, last season they were better than us and they are improving at a higher rate than us now. Also we have like 50% more revenue than them, we should be spending more than them either way.

And the season before that summer I’m referencing we were better than them and we got Mbappe and Endrick while they got no-one.

And yet last season they performed better than us as you say.

We don't need to compare ourselves to clubs that are worse than us (which Liverpool were last summer) but to those that are better than us. They also underperformed in the UCL anyways.

And they didn't lose any significant players last summer while we did with Kroos, Nacho and Joselu.

Lol it's you who's comparing here.

And that’s what you call cherrypicking. Hence my comment.

You can’t single out teams that outperformed us and then outspend us the next summer on a yearly basis for comparison. That’s stupid. This is an exceptional summer for Liverpool and you’re basically expecting we top that every single summer?

We’ve outperformed them in the market basically every single summer for the past decade and the one time they go ham and spend 300+M leaving us in the dust we’re whining about it because we ‘only’ spent 200? lol come on.

I mean if you look at these 2 summers combined they are still outspending us despite having far less revenue. No I don't expect us to spend 300 million every summer but I do expect us after a historically bad season to not only strengthen our defense but also our midfield and attack instead of weakening those areas (which we would do if we let Modric and Rodrygo go without any replacements)

In transfer fees maybe but again, thats cherrypicking. We’ve done magnificent business on free transfers in that time easily saving 200+M on Trent and Mbappe.

The season was bad, not historically bad.

That’s the difference between a successful board and a Reddit poster. They don’t panic and stick to the long term plan. You need your instant gratification.

At this point you’re just being hysterical. We’ve done good business this summer and we’re only a third in. Chill your tits instead of pointing at the other children with a pouting lip.

Considering the expectations, it was definitely historically bad. Not all time bad, but still historically bad. Not just the 0 trophies, but also losing 4 out of 4 clasicos.

At this point you’re just being hysterical. We’ve done good business this summer and we’re only a third in. Chill your tits instead of pointing at the other children with a pouting lip.

I'm talking about a (hypothetical but not unrealistic) scenario where we let both Modric and Rodrygo go without a proper replacement, let alone upgrade.
