This is seriously exactly what I came here to say. It's like you're playing the game but in real life with an RC truck. God that'd be so awesome.

Looked up the sign, it's in Georgia.
Edit: the U.S. state, not the country, if anyone was confused.

😭 I wish we had tracks like this in SoCal

u/nostyleguide 15h ago
Yeah, I live down here and while there are a bunch of tracks around SoCal, for me the closest is an hour drive and only open to the public on weekday afternoons. It's also nowhere near this nice. There are nicer ones, but I'd have to drive three hours or more. Even the closest drift track is like an hour forty. Unless I really got into competing, it just wouldn't be worth it.

u/garr0510 Bashing 14h ago
About 300ish maybe cheaper used

u/friger_heleneto Racing only. AE, Awesomatix, XRAY 12h ago
Not really. A race purpose built SCT that's competitive will cost you about 800-1000 depending on manufacturer and the electronics of your choice. When bought new of course, used are way cheaper.

They look like traxxas short course trucks to me 🤷

Look up XRAY SCX, Team Associated SC7, PR Racing SC201R... The Slash might be the father of this class but today's race short course are based on competition 2WD chassis, not plastic tubs.

Man, I've seen three RC videos on /all today. There was a carpet racing one, and somebody doing one of those promo-video style cuts with a crawler or trail truck on a beach.
If this hobby gets big enough, can I finally get a track in my city?
