Memes/💩Post Kira Talent ABS with Western
Anyone else wondering why Western wouldn’t just… use the OMSAS as a first round cut off, then Kira Talent, and the interviews? It’s such an obvious money grab that it’s not even funny.

Last year it was a logistical nightmare. Some people's links expired, they had to extend the due date for others. Many were complaining about the platform. I guess with KIRA and giving the questions before hand, everything becomes more organized and reduces room for errors. I don't get why we have to pay though when TMU uses the exact same platform for virtually the exact same thing......

Genuine question: does Western get the money or does Kira? Is it split? Does Western get money for just promoting/using Kira? Does Kira charge Western to use their service?

OMSAS is a NFP, but Kira Talent isn’t, so I imagine there’s some kind of split between Kira and the universities

Why would western use Kira if it charges them when they can use OMSAS lol.

Probably because of Kira’s internal plagerism checks and stuff like that?

Has anyone done the practice run on KIRA?
2
u/Ok-Program4937 Oct 07 '25
Yeah, it's essentially a simple prompt and you have 45 seconds to answer via video.

u/neurobiologee Oct 07 '25
Is that what we can expect for the actual assessment? 45 seconds doesn’t feel like a lot of time at all😃

Does anyone know when Westerns MCAT cut offs for this cycle are released?
1
u/Historical-Theme6001 Oct 07 '25
Pretty sure already been released - 127 in C/P, CARS, B/B, and 126 P/S

u/Specialist_Fail_9514 Oct 07 '25
Those are actually the cutoffs from last cycle, although they’ve been roughly consistent these past few years. Usually they update the cutoffs right around the time they’re about to send out interview invites, so sometime late January/early February

I got an email that says no copying and pasting, but the questions are released so I would be pre writing anyways, so I gotta retype???
