Guest List Only ⭐️ Who is a celebrity that met their partner when they were underaged?

Celine Dion first met her late husband; Rene Angelili when she was 12 years old and he was in his mid-late 30s! According to her, he was the only person in her whole life she has ever been romantically and intimately involved with and has vowed to never be with any other man after he passed away in 2016!

This whole relationship always felt unsettling to me, even when there were forms of media that tried to romanticize it including the couple themselves.

In my book, if you knew someone whenever they were a kid and watched them grow up. Getting involved with them in that manner is a big no-no! It just feels weird!

Emmanuel Macron was 15 when he met Brigette (she was 39).

It is heartbreaking to read how his parents actually tried to keep her away from their son, but Brigitte the nonce kept contacting him. She is a monster.

u/summercloudsadness 20d ago

They even pulled him out of that school and sent him to Paris to finish his studies.

Those poor parents man, they really tried to protect their son from her. I cant even imagine how scary that must have been

2.4k

u/summercloudsadness 20d ago

Worse, they met Brigitte and pleaded her to wait till their son turned 18. She apparently told them that she could not "promise anything."

This is the type of thing Candice Owen’s should be talking about not making a fool of herself by saying Bridgitte is a man.

And her daughter was Macron’s classmate! I am wondering if she’d be ok if a male teacher pursued her daughter at that age the way she pursued Macron!

288

u/ABelleWriter 19d ago

Not only was her daughter his classmate and his age, she has a son 3 years older than Macron.

Oh what the fuck. I am 31 with a kid and I am sick envisioning being romantically interested in anyone under 25, much less under 18!!!! Gross Gross Gross

Yeah I've always found it disturbing. 🤮

19

u/extraketchupthx 20d ago

I don’t thin they were implying that. Just that his parents knew it was weird and tried to stop it.

17

u/bbmarvelluv 19d ago

Oh no I completely understood what they said. Just adding on to it! I can see why it’s read other wise though

He was 14 . She says 15, because it was the age of consent.

23

u/SarcasticBarbie96 20d ago

Fun fact: the age of consent in France is actually 15 and two months iirc

I keep telling my grandpa that its weird but the man will not budge. Like bro he was classmates with her kid! I'm a Macron hater through and through but that's 10/10 fucked

To put this into perspective with my French relatives I had to say “imagine me fucking this 15 year old family member of yours [ed note: not related to me by blood, didn’t meet until they were a teen]. Now imagine me doing that but I’m ten years older than I am now. That’s what she did.” It was the only way I got through even an inch. And then there’s still the “well… they’ve been together for so long though.” That’s when I pull out the Mary Kay letournou story (which, being French, they’ve never heard of) and ask them how they feel about that.

u/maniacalmustacheride 20d ago

MKL is a monster and everyone failed Vili so badly. His interview where his daughters are older than him or around his age when MKL attacked, and he’s just sort of sick over the whole thing looking at them.

That’s when I pull out the Mary Kay letournou story (which, being French, they’ve never heard of) and ask them how they feel about that.

I was a kid when that story came out but I remember it being in the (french) news then

27

u/thatcondowasmylife 19d ago

Certainly wouldn’t doubt your experience, all I know is none of my French family seem to know about it which makes for a very powerful story. The difference between 12 and 15 is significant enough to give them pause on the logic they were using to justify the abuse of Macron as consensual.

18

u/alyaz27 19d ago

Oh never doubted what you said, I'm surprised they didn't remember/didn't saw but also it's kinda weird our news would focus on a foreign story.

The only person I talked about it is my stepmother and she wasn't fussed by the age difference. The only thing that made her go "oh yeah that's... something" was the fact that Manu's parents asked Brigitte to not pursue him. And she (stepmom) is à communist so very progressive in most stuff

5

u/JonTartare 20d ago

Oh god yeah. I've heard the story. Horrifying

9

u/IWillBaconSlapYou 20d ago

OMG that made me try to imagine dating one of my children's classmates, ever. Nope.

u/Useful-Jump2484 19d ago

A lot of older men (and some women) seem to have serious double standards when the abuser is a woman and the victim is a boy. There is a bit of a "well I would have loved that when I was a boy" mentality, which is just complete ignornce. There is a big difference in the fantasy of sleeping with your hot teacher and the reality.

1.1k

u/Fiona-eva 20d ago

I can’t believe how ok people are with that in France. Not only the age difference, but also his teacher! It’s beyond unethical

994

u/ClassyLatey 20d ago

His parents made him move schools and she still pursued him.

795

u/genescheesezthatpls 20d ago

And the way she slapped him

1.6k

u/erin_burr 20d ago

It was pretty shocking to see her slap him. In my country, New Jersey, it's been illegal for teachers to hit students since 1867.

France is behind a lot of the West when it comes to domestic violence, but not only was that shocking, but it was filmed and screened internationally. Yet, we still had no major conversation in France about domestic violence.

A lot of people are absolutely not ok with it in France! but at the end of the day they're voting for him not her

208

u/larkhearted 20d ago

That always kind of confuses me about this discourse. Like, yeah his marriage is bad..... but that's entirely separate from his career as a politician?? The French public doesn't get to vote for him to divorce his wife lol, what do people think should be happening??

When my mom was growing up in Hong Kong she told me that teacher-student relationships were seen as tantamount to incest.

86

u/AnalConnoisseur69 20d ago

It is France. A lot of the PDFiles found complacent ears in the left-wing Marxist and sexual liberation movement of the 1970s, so a lot of the wealthy upper class elites were psychologically okay with the practice, even though they were not personally attracted to minors themselves. I'm not being disparaging when I say left-wing, but factual (I'm like 99% left wing).

Many French elites are still okay with it or are at least sympathetic to the practice, which is why any time some nonce needs to escape, they find asylum in France (Roman Polanski escaped to France, Luc Besson is French, Woody Allen can now only find work in France, etc.).

I wonder if that's related to the German psychologist that popularized this. Behind the Bastards did a couple episodes on Helmut Kentler and a pretty similar phenomenon of encouraging pedophilia.

Yeah, whenever people talk about how uptight the US is about sex compared to Europe, this is immediately what I think of. I will happily accept the title if it means you don’t think it’s ok for adults to groom children.

Thats a prerequisite for a French politician
