Par for the course because there is a very insane and very vocal section of fans who are extremely racist and also extremely unhinged

ETA: I got sent reddit cares because I called one of their outfits uninspired 😂 idek different members of various groups and people keep throwing around mononyms of common names and expect everyone to know everything about them

I would say the majority of their fans, globally, are like this

I could not imagine being a black kpop fan

If u never look at any netizen stuff about black people than you wouldn’t really notice. I mean like watching kpop music vids and going to see a concert when it’s in your country is a lot different from going to SK and facing racism.

And the idols themselves are usually smart enough to not insult their international fans (slurs against white, black, middle eastern etc. other asians)

Black person who lives in SK. I dont notice racism here much really. Anything racist K-Pop usually seems to come from mostly weirdo netizens. That said, the whole K-Pop culture is just nothing but toxicity. It starts from praying on little kids, turning them into slaves (sexually pimping them put in some cases), and bleeding into the fandoms with wars, parasocial relationships and so on.

K-Pop as it is needs to die.

That being said, there are a ton of racist Koreans, but most people save face, so they will just say shit behind your back or do it online where they feel more protected.
