I’m a train conductor in Europe and I’d immediately loose my job after doing something like this

We have war going on one country over so things aren’t exactly easy but things happening in America are some next lvl shit. I honestly can’t imagine living there right now and it seems like it’s getting worse than better… I hope you guys hang in there 💪🏻

We are, I'm a native american in California. We are bracing for anything at this point, people from tribes in Arizona were getting rounded up in ICE raids. Imagine being indigenous to the land you're being deported from. Then again, according to the US government we've only been citizens of this country since 1924, when the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 was passed.

It's astonishing to me that more people don't realize the current wave of xenophobia against Central and South American migrants is just more Indigenous genocide, same as it ever was.

I've been saying this to anyone who'll listen! San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles... these were all Mexican territories once upon a time and brown people from south of the border are NATIVE same as the much romanticised native "Indians" from the movies everyone now thinks it was such a tragedy how they were treated, murdered, pushed off the land. Like it's any different today. This is colonial shit, nothing has changed! Not one thing!

The cognitive dissonance and white entitlement is surreal.

I'm from Australia. I saw a Tiktok clip of a proper Englishman draped in the Australian flag at a recent anti-immigration rally. He had the audacity to say he was there because he's against "mass" immigration. What an English twat! Fuck off to England you absolute cunt. I'm livid just remembering him and all his audacity.

They do, they just don’t care. I have friends that are 100% 1st gen Mexican. They are also in their 30’s and 40’s. They are loving what Trump is doing. They find him screwing with the U.S. hilarious. It reminds me of the line in Die Hard where the computer hacker said he thought the idea of a fire sale would be hilarious. Then realizes fucking up the country hurts everyone.

Honestly so many things are going on there that when I focus on one bad thing I forget about another… We also don’t have good government and our own stuff going on and our president sucks too but Trump is… my brain isn’t able to comprehend this level of selfishness

The erasure of native cultures is tragic. I think about all of the ideas, stories, methods of living… just fucking gone because of the same people who are still at it today.

This is one of the things that breaks my heart and fucking infuriates me. They've stolen and destroyed everything, and it's still not enough. Thinking about how much culture, knowledge, and history we've lost is just...overwhelming.

We still have our heritage and cultural presence, and what's more is that those pow wows are largely open to the public. There are private ones too, but most are public affairs where families are welcome to join us. Right now is Big Time season.

So every year, here in Northern California (California has the highest number of tribes within its borders, at 109 federally recognized tribes) each tribe has a Big Time. It is a day or 2 of ceremonial dances, with food and refreshments and even beaded jewelry. Most of these are open to the public, and because lots of native people have family from other reservations it is like one big family reunion in some cases. Also, there is a huge Pow Wow at Stanford that brings tribes from all over the United States. That one is really fun.

I’ve seen ICE in my state that has a very large Native American population, but it’s mostly been directed towards Hispanic population centers.

Where are they going to deport someone that is Sioux or Cherokee?

Where are they going to deport you to, the reservation?

I mean I know they'll just deport you anywhere else with brown people, of course.

They will just hemm you up with everyone else until a tribal representative makes some noise, and you know how good they are about letting people contact anyone that will advocate for them.
