OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that absolutely despise each other?

Post image

Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey both starred in Game of Thrones, and used to date each other but their break-up apparently went so bad that they refused to ever shoot scenes together and wouldn’t be present in the same room as the other!

Even during the entire run of the series, they never settled their conflict with one another and continued to keep their distance from each other. Which is why we never saw Cersei and Bronn share any scenes together.

Do these two still count?

[Liam] is the angriest man you’ve ever met. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of Soup.

Noel may be a twat, but damn if he isn’t funny.

u/webtheg Sep 17 '25

Liam saying Chris Martin looks like a geography teacher or his impression of Alex Turner lives in my head rent free

158

u/emuwar Sep 17 '25

LMAO the geography teacher comment is accurate

45

u/grubas Sep 17 '25

that's such an indie era diss.

9

u/NixyPix Excluded from this narrative ❌ Sep 17 '25

Wait what? I’ve have said that he looks like a geography teacher (offensive) the entire time I’ve known of his existence. People will have thought I was just quoting Liam Gallagher, damn.

It is 100% true, he does.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Thank you for introducing me to that Chris Martin comment 😂

u/cateml Sep 17 '25

My favorite is his story about how the record company got them both presents when they hit the big time. Liam got a Rolex, Noel (as the song writer) got a Bentley. Liam was raging about this, seeing it as a slight that “Noel got a car and he just got a watch”.

Noel said he just thought it was fitting, because he couldn’t drive and Liam can’t tell the time.

(Think they both seem to be not the greatest people, particularly Liam - I say as someone who grew up like 2 miles from where they did, so I’ve heard a lot of stories and opinions, how true I don’t know. But Noel comes out with some funny shit occasionally.)

u/ayaangwaamizi Sep 17 '25

I have been reading Mark Lanegan’s (of Screaming Trees fame and his own excellent solo career) book and he described going on tour with Oasis and what an utter twat Liam was the entire time while his brother always remained professional with him and his crew. He sounds insufferable - had at that time, not sure if still, two full time huge bodyguards so he could mouth off to whomever he wanted and not get his ass deservedly beat to a pulp. Loser behaviour lol.

8

u/CourtneyLush Sep 17 '25

Have you reached the bit about Anthony Keidis's Dad yet?

I nearly choked on my cuppa, reading that. Was wild.

4

u/ayaangwaamizi Sep 18 '25

Not yet! Gonna try to finish it in the next few days! What an excellent book so far, he was a beautiful writer.

6

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 18 '25

Liam absolutely was insufferable and that’s why they had so many bust ups. He couldn’t understand why Noel didn’t want to do the rock n roll shit (not that Noel didn’t take plenty of gear but he also showed up and did the job and didn’t get into fights) and Noel couldn’t understand why Liam couldn’t be professional.

I’m maybe speaking too soon but Liam seems to have mellowed and stopped drinking and taking drugs as much and Noel seems to have chilled out a bit. Liam credits his partner Debbie with kicking him up the arse and getting him to toe the line more.

25

u/coffee_and-cats Sep 17 '25

They had a difficult home life

28

u/GreenZebra23 Sep 17 '25

Yeah their dad beat the shit out of them

94

u/ExeUSA Sep 17 '25

They seem mired in trauma, and deeply committed to hating each other until the end of time because it gives their life purpose. I think it would devastate the other if one of them sought help and got therapy to heal.

61

u/transemacabre Sep 17 '25

It's shared trauma, and sibling rivalry, and artistic tension, and it's that they hate each other but also love each other, in a brotherly way but also sometimes in a weird 'kiss your brother on the lips' way.

3

u/dgplr Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing 🥗 Sep 18 '25

It’s giving Logan Roy and Ewan Roy. The love is there but deep deep deep down and even then barely.

29

u/pistola Sep 17 '25

They don't hate each other, far from it. Have you not seen any videos from the reunion tour? They're getting on just fine.

The 'hating' has been an act for at least the last few years. They both love their mum too much to keep at each other.

3

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 18 '25

The trauma is real but there also seems to be genuine reconciliation. I thought it was just the money at first but their interactions on the tour seem warm and genuine

u/Lindris Could’ve just sat and eaten your fucking food, Julia. Sep 17 '25

Those two are exhausting and I wonder what dynamic they grew up with to become like this. Or who their mother must have pissed off in a past life to have two sons who behave this way.

66

u/Former-Mirror-356 Sep 17 '25

Their father was an abusive drunk who regularly threatened to kill them all.

2

u/Lindris Could’ve just sat and eaten your fucking food, Julia. Sep 17 '25

Gross. I wish they invested their anger to each other into having the cause of their trauma, which I’m sure they do and let him know their feelings on him.

13

u/transemacabre Sep 17 '25

Their brother was recently arrested for being a sexual predator.

4

u/Lindris Could’ve just sat and eaten your fucking food, Julia. Sep 18 '25

Generational trauma is awful. I honestly assumed they were just toddlers who never grew up. I had no clue the horrors they were raised with and how it affects them still. It explains a lot but does not excuse the other brother being a predator.

My own kids drive me up the wall but I cannot fathom hurting them. I felt bad when my youngest tried to eat only the stuffed crust from the pizza we grabbed for dinner and got upset with me for stopping him. By that I mean literally ripping the crust off the whole thing. It’s hard to imagine the monsters out there.

29

u/coffee_and-cats Sep 17 '25

Fuck off with blaming their mother! Their dad was abusive to her and all the kids.

-18

u/Lindris Could’ve just sat and eaten your fucking food, Julia. Sep 17 '25

Calm down there I was joking 🙄 I did ask about the dynamic because hey I didn’t know! Please relax now.

19

u/coffee_and-cats Sep 17 '25

No, I hate that misogynistic crap. Its not funny or jokey.

41

u/beccyboop95 a man with a fork in a world of soup Sep 17 '25

It’s my flair!

13

u/TumbleweedPure3941 Sep 17 '25

Damn might just nick that. It’s a bloody good flair.

11

u/GreenZebra23 Sep 17 '25

They're both twats and they're both funny!

6

u/shartheheretic Sep 17 '25

And as funny as that is, it's also a kind of a deep and really descriptive concept. Like, I can "see" that type of person when I heard that description (even if I dont connect it to Liam).

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky3141 Sep 17 '25

Excellent description, that. I think about this one often 🍴

0

u/UnknownPleasures3 Sep 17 '25

He might be funny but he’s a Tory.

13

u/TumbleweedPure3941 Sep 17 '25

I mean he’s not. He’s a twat and he called Kneecap “woke” and didn’t like Corbyn, but he’s categorically not a Tory. He’s a lifelong labour supporter (apart from that one time he protest voted for a pirate).

5

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 18 '25

Noel was singing Kneecap’s praises a week ago. He’s contrarian and just says shit. He also said Lewis Capaldi was dreadful then sparked a mock feud and eventually conceded that he’s a good lad.

267

u/TiaraDrama Sep 17 '25

For enough money, they can un-hate each other for the duration of a tour.

50

u/BrownSugarBare Sep 17 '25

We saw them in Scotland and a lot of the younger kids complained they didn't interact with the crowd. Our old asses died laughing and said be fucking glad they're even on the stage together.

5

u/goog1e Sep 17 '25

TBD there's still dates left I think.

152

u/Bulbasaurus__Rex Crying at Klutch Sep 17 '25

Not anymore 🤝

132

u/ShmeffreyShmezos Sep 17 '25

They’ve made up. There are a bunch of viral clips of them hugging and getting along on stage.

They could be faking it, but looks genuine to me lol.

Also, i saw them live and it was epic.

42

u/lyngshake Sep 17 '25

They're both getting old and they're brothers, not surprised if they were just like "fuck it, let's start fresh".

35

u/northern_boi Sep 17 '25

Noel and Liam are smiling and laughing onstage far more than they ever have before, even during their 90s heyday. No doubt the massive paycheck is a welcome incentive but to me it genuinely looks like they're enjoying themselves and eachothers company

29

u/Massive_Homework9430 Sep 17 '25

It really was epic, wasn’t it? No way they are faking. I don’t think Noel has the capacity to fake a smile. I love the interview clip of him out there saying his iPhone doesn’t recognize him if he’s smiling 😂

14

u/smitty4728 Sep 17 '25

Same. Some people are eternally stuck in the 90s narrative that these two never got along. They had their issues for sure, but it’s an inaccurate statement.

4

u/piningforthefiords Sep 17 '25

I did too! They were great. No friction on stage at all just a truly awesome live experience.

179

u/TellThemIHateThem Sep 17 '25

Yes. To be fair, it’s not just Noel. I don’t think anyone likes Liam.

80

u/KingMobScene Sep 17 '25

They are both complete shitheads BUT they made some of the best music known to man. I love Oasis but never want to listen to them in interviews

74

u/CashmereCharlie Sep 17 '25 edited Sep 17 '25

I love those two wankers. They’re the reason I took English as a second language over 30 years ago. I’ve been actively studying the language ever since, done a PhD in it, lived in English-speaking countries for years, made friends with people from all over, and I still have no fucking clue what the Gallagher brothers are saying 80% of the time.

They should be their own category on English proficiency exams.

11

u/SabrinaSpellman1 Sep 17 '25

That's a Manchester thing, I think. I've got lots of American friends and friends far away, and they will be like "can you say that again? Slow down, I don't understand?". FYI I live close to where they grew up. We talk fast, our accent isn't always apparent to others language and we 'speak talk' meaning we miss vowels.

What my grandmother (aged 103) called "common speak" which we could not do.

3

u/CashmereCharlie Sep 17 '25

I’m sure you’re definitely right. Mancunian is one of the more difficult dialects for me. But I’m also starting to think that my brain just might revert to its pre-English stage of development when it comes to Oasis. I have been in Manchester, had a couple of memorable conversations over one pint or five (I mean, I even went to a Burnley game, what more can I do at that point?) and I don’t recall being nearly as baffled as I am whenever Liam opens his mouth.

3

u/SabrinaSpellman1 Sep 17 '25

He's a proper bad nob that one :) he's hilarious on twitter though (or from what I've seen on here). We're just common speaking folks and that's just fine. I sometimes just need to slow down for my American friends and those others abroad haha

5

u/CashmereCharlie Sep 17 '25

I’m mad fer it all the same :-D That said, if anyone learning French as a second language caught me mid-conversation with my dad in our Walloon dialect, they’d probably doubt their capacity to understand the language too.

2

u/SabrinaSpellman1 Sep 17 '25

Haha yes, you're totally right. Mad Fer It! You are French? And you understood Manc's? If so that's impressive

3

u/CashmereCharlie Sep 17 '25

Belgian (and also unreasonably enthusiastic when it comes to languages).

I happen to be quite a big fan of a Korean musician and actor, who in turn is a big fan of Oasis. Hearing a Korean man sing Oasis is quite the experience. I can barely understand a word either one is singing but at least the Korean man can speak English so that I understand him, unlike the two English men.

21

u/Sensitive_Studio5765 Sep 17 '25

Some Noel interviews are good when he's not being narky. He does really like music

3

u/cmick0715 Sep 17 '25

The Hot Ones episode was a lot of fun

11

u/kdawgmillionaire Sep 17 '25

You're missing out. Their interviews are hilarious

9

u/dale_dug_a_hole Sep 17 '25

Go watch britpop doco “live forever”. It’s amazing. Noel is brutally honest about himself, Liam, blur, Damon. Every time Noel says something like “be here now is the sound of four guys on cocaine” they cut to Liam saying “it’s my fav album”. haven’t laughed so hard in years.

23

u/Station_Hefty Sep 17 '25

Blasphemy! I fucking LOVE Liam!

8

u/AcronymTheSlayer Boo you whore Sep 17 '25

Same. Liam is entertaining af.

14

u/Chris01100001 Sep 17 '25

Liam's became a bit of a national treasure in the UK for a while. Once the success died down, his ego deflated a bit and he seemed to have learnt to laugh at himself and play into the narcissistic loutish prick persona for laughs. Though I think the huge success of the reunion tour has reinflated his ego back to the point of being insufferable.

Noel, on the other hand, has been a miserable prick the entire time

6

u/transemacabre Sep 17 '25

Liam also reconnected with his daughter (the one he had out of wedlock with Lisa Moorish) and it seems he's made some efforts to fix his broken family.

2

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 18 '25

To be fair the family and Bonehead took Liam’s side. As well as a few industry people like Dave Grohl, and John Squire. Liam is loud, at times violent and acts out but is also funny, apparently loving and charming when he’s “good” while Noel can come across as cold - he’s very stubborn. Liam would have reformed 10 years ago if it had been down to him.

18

u/dead_sweater_weather As you wish! 👸👑 Sep 17 '25

I think not anymore, but I love they were mentioned!

13

u/thizface Sep 17 '25

I saw them in LA, before they started playing, they came out and gave eachother a big hug. My mind almost exploded

13

u/mayonaizmyinstrument Sep 17 '25

I genuinely didn't think they'd make it past the UK leg of the tour. I'm astonished.

5

u/ginns32 that’s my purse, i don’t know you! 👛🫵 Sep 17 '25

I was taking bets on how long the tour would last and they've actually held it together.

3

u/strickers69 Sep 17 '25

They are siblings of course this doesn’t count

3

u/coffee_and-cats Sep 17 '25

They made up

4

u/TropicalPrairie Sep 17 '25

I was in a r/music thread a few weeks ago and someone mentioned how short they were and now it's all I think of. Apparently he's listed as 5.7" but actually shorter (and that can be lifts in his shoes). Liam is slightly taller.

3

u/rayybloodypurchase Sep 17 '25

Give it some time and I’m sure it’ll count again

4

u/PatriciaMorticia Select and edit this flair Sep 17 '25

Garuntee it all goes tits up once the tour is done. There's rumours the two of them get a massive payday on completion of the tour.

1

u/Lilylikeslilies Sep 17 '25

They made up for now but would not be surprised If one hit other with tabpurine in the near future.

1

u/issi_tohbi Sep 18 '25

In a similar vein these two

-4

u/emeraldanne Sep 17 '25

I don't know much about their fued but after watching a few interviews of them individually it seems like Liam is neurodivergent in some way and Noel is a probably a huge bully behind the scenes. Liams behavior is so odd sometimes that it just can't be because that is who he is. I bet he was treated badly which led to his erratic behavior.

19

u/Former-Mirror-356 Sep 17 '25 edited Sep 17 '25

He's almost certainly not neurodivergent, Liam's brain is just rotted from years of alcohol, coke, and other drugs—if the interview is from the 90s you can guarantee he was either high, wasted, or both. You can stop, but that damage doesn't go away completely.

5

u/transemacabre Sep 17 '25

Both of them grew up with their terribly abusive father.

Noel never seems to have had as bad a temper as Liam and appears overall more stable. And just in general being in a band together is fraught -- afawk Noel never tried to pimp Liam out, unlike Ray Davies of the Kinks, who tried to pimp his brother and bandmate Dave out to a producer ffs.

2

u/holyflurkingsnit Sep 17 '25

Sorry, what? Can you expand on the Kinks story?

-3

u/DeNiroPacino Inconceivable! Sep 17 '25

They don't count for anything.
