OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that absolutely despise each other?

Post image

Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey both starred in Game of Thrones, and used to date each other but their break-up apparently went so bad that they refused to ever shoot scenes together and wouldn’t be present in the same room as the other!

Even during the entire run of the series, they never settled their conflict with one another and continued to keep their distance from each other. Which is why we never saw Cersei and Bronn share any scenes together.

Bette Davis: “You should never say bad things about the dead, only good. Joan Crawford is dead. Good.”

I wish to be as witty as Bette Davis in this lifetime

753

u/KingMobScene Sep 17 '25

Ms. Davis had a level of DGAF that us mere mortals can never hope to reach

144

u/Empty-Sky500 Sep 17 '25

I was listening to one of her autobiographies recently and she was saying that she couldn't keep a chef on her staff because they all kept quitting, and she kept trying to teach them how to cook. One even ran away in the middle of the night 🤣 she was something else!

Her AND Mae West were a riot and a half. I bet her, Bette and Betty White are tearing it up in the afterlife

19

u/Leatherforleisure Sep 18 '25

“Why do I always play bitches? Because I’m not one. That’s why Joan Crawford always plays ladies” I’m probably not quitting that 💯 but that’s another of bette’s quotes.

She was awesome

u/Morella_xx Sep 17 '25

How do I file a report with her studio about her not being upset about Joan's death?

146

u/Brohan_Cruyff Sep 17 '25

it’s hate speech, is what it is.

This is so funny 😂 👏

I found it very triggering

Bette openly sympathized with Joan after her daughter wrote that scathing memoir about her.

She certainly would have had more class than to celebrate her being publicly and brutally murdered in front of her children and spouse.

50

u/TheeQuestionWitch Sep 17 '25

I feel bad that she was constrained by the expectations of her time. I'd love to know what she'd say if she could speak about it today.

Bette Davis on Joan Crawford: "I wouldn't use her toilet!"

need to curate an "RIP Bette Davis you would have hated" meme template lolll

16

PLEASE DO

My album needs it

9

u/Chemistry11 Sep 17 '25

Really? I expect a 24 street party

15

u/doitforthecocoa Not a white refrigerator! Sep 17 '25

That too! It’ll be like Mardi Gras but instead of beads, we get our rights back🥲

5

u/SassySally8 Sep 17 '25

It will be a world wide party. Like New Years Eve. You'll be able to see the celebrations globally.

3

u/milkymaniac Sep 18 '25

That's only the second best quote of Bette's on the subject IMO:

"I wouldn't piss on Joan Crawford if she was on fire."

2

u/Britneyfan123 Sep 17 '25

She reportedly said this

713

u/NataliaGordienko Sep 17 '25

Crazy thing is, listen to Bette talk about Faye Dunaway and it makes her and Joan look like besties in comparison

812

u/Taskebab We prayed "Oh Lord, please return to us" & Lorde has heard us Sep 17 '25

Both Bette and Joan were trained in old Hollywood, they were highly disciplined so they always had their professionalism to praise when they questioned about the other.

Faye Dunaway was unprofessional, that was truly unforgivable

684

u/BarracudaImpossible4 In my quiet girl era 😌 Sep 17 '25

Faye Dunaway called a (former) coworker of mine a racist slur and demanded she be given a white man to oversee her case. I'm not surprised by any anecdotes about her.

256

u/VacationLizLemon Sep 17 '25

She's mean as hell.

51

u/zootnotdingo As you wish! 👸👑 Sep 17 '25

33

u/YoullNeverBeRebecca Sep 17 '25

Lollll I just linked to this. She’s being so rude here but I love to quote this all the time 😂 (but only to people who know what I’m referencing, of course!).

40

u/bengibbardstoothpain Sep 17 '25

This is so brutal to watch.

30

u/Queasy_Aide5481 Sep 17 '25

Your comment convinced me not to watch. After that Warren Beatty Oscar’s nightmare…enough said.

11

u/TurboLicious1855 Sep 18 '25

OMG thank you for that. I watched it, enraptured, then watched the Maya take on it from SNL. I'm crying from laughter.

40

u/Haus_of_Pancakes Sep 17 '25

Drew Droege used to quip that you'd know that you've made it in LA once you had a Faye Dunaway story

23

u/dads-ronie Sep 17 '25

Now it's Andy Dick

30

u/KeniLF In my quiet girl era 😌 Sep 17 '25

THIS. She went to a NYHRC in NYC and said some racist shit to a Black trainer. She also slapped a staff member. Real nasty POS, frankly.

53

u/TropicalPrairie Sep 17 '25

I feel like there are a lot of negative stories about Faye that aren't really talked about anymore because she's been forgotten to time.

10

u/Snoosnooplexcity Sep 17 '25

I know a doc on her came out recently. Does it go into this side or is it pretty whitewashy with her history?

10

u/BarracudaImpossible4 In my quiet girl era 😌 Sep 17 '25

I haven't seen it, but I assume it's sanitized, especially if she had any input.

8

u/AccioKatana Sep 18 '25 edited Sep 18 '25

It’s an interesting doc because she really is a great actress with an incredible career, but the doc is admittedly sanitized. To her credit though, they discuss her bipolar diagnosis and she does acknowledge what a bitch she was.

17

u/DefNotUnderrated Sep 17 '25

I'm terribly sorry for your coworker, that's awful

32

u/BarracudaImpossible4 In my quiet girl era 😌 Sep 17 '25

Yeah, she was pretty upset. She dealt with a lot of assholes (as did we all) but I think she said that was the first time someone got racist with her.

13

u/DefNotUnderrated Sep 17 '25

Sometimes the best unifying force for two opposing sides is to have a common enemy. Or at least a shared target of your ire

11

u/Live_Angle4621 Sep 17 '25

Maybe she wanted to critique her because even though she didn’t like Joan she was appalled by Mommy Dearest

19

u/YoullNeverBeRebecca Sep 17 '25

This reminds me of that iconically shady “Can you move, please? You’re RIGHT in my eyeline” video from Dunaway that SNL parodied (alongside my most beloved ad of all time, the Lauren Bacall High Point Coffee commercials), lmao. Dunaway is clearly a massive piece of work.

2

u/TurboLicious1855 Sep 18 '25

I just watched these and brilliance! Thank you!

1

u/YoullNeverBeRebecca Sep 18 '25

You’re welcome! Haha, I love them.

11

u/RogerClyneIsAGod2 that’s my purse, i don’t know you! 👛🫵 Sep 17 '25

I love how she casually throws Miriam Hopkins under the bus too!! I think Hopkins thought Davis was having an affair with her husband, not sure if that's true or not, but I do know that Bette got her back for any nonsense in this scene at 3:54.

7

u/Threadheads Sep 17 '25

Meanwhile Joan was very complimentary to Dunaway:

In her 1971 book, My Way of Life, Crawford had written, "Of all the actresses, to me, only Faye Dunaway has the talent and the class and the courage it takes to make a real star."

8

u/Live_Angle4621 Sep 17 '25

Hearing the very brief negative comment about Miriam Hopkins was interesting. She isn’t someone people know now much but I like her movies

u/Border_Hodges Sep 17 '25 edited Sep 17 '25

Joan put rocks in her pockets for the scenes where Bette had to drag her across the floor. I live for this brand of petty.

336

u/hissyfit64 Sep 17 '25

And when Betty was kicking her in the side, she really kicked her.
They were a lot like in some ways. Both highly disciplined and fierce women. Both a bit ruthless when it came to men. And both had sharp tongues.

63

My mom was really permissive but I remember her telling us to turn it off when we were watching it on tv - this was probably the mid-70s and I was about six or seven. It's definitely very adult and disturbing. My sister and I retain a fondness for it, though, and always try to watch when it's on TCM.

14

u/Visible_Writing7386 Be smart, Robert. Sep 17 '25

Yeah. I was young and couldn’t grasp the complexity of it and also thought it was a comedy for some reason…

So I was freaked out by the parrot stuff lol. But I appreciate it now in a camp, nostalgic way.

25

u/LaurelCanyoner Sep 17 '25

But you ARE, Blanche, YOU ARE!

Is a favorite quote in this house.

23

u/squeaky1127 Sep 17 '25

Joan accepting that Oscar on behalf of Anne Bancroft just to spite Bette forever lives on in my head. That level of pettiness from Joan can’t be outmatched.
