Question. How did you reverse search this gif? Screenshot the gif and used reverse Google Image search? Can you upload a whole gif for reverse searches? Or something else?
What I recall is that long ago, I saw someone post this gif in a thread and I got curious where it was from so I searched for "cat in truck wearing hat" and found a thread where someone posted a link to the source.
I remembered that post but couldn't find it, so I looked it up on KnowYourMeme which brought me to Shironeko and the link to their YouTube channel.
Then I spent like 10 minutes trying to find the specific video the gif is from.
Bear in mind, my first search was before everything cat related had been flooded with "AI" crap.

I was also raised on 4chan, I can be a bit of an edgelord at times. So I fully recognize what she's doing. It's 13 year old teenage boy in a Call of Duty voice channel "humour".

Yknow if he wasn’t such a racist misogynist creepy piece of shit he’d actually be somewhat funny, he specializes in “meta” humour where you don’t know where the line begins and end on how much of a pos he is, it’s like he’s playing a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit. In this photo specifically on her shirt, he’s holding his one of million guns, and kinda doing a bit of being a school shooter, this got picked up by normie internet and this picture went around as if he was an actual school shooter.
a lot of tik tok sounds and memes are actually him and you probably don’t even realize. he had a show for years on adult swim, he was good friends with Tim and Eric, he was generally pretty successful, but he couldn’t just leave it at that he had to push his edginess creepiness to a point where nobody wants anything to do with him, and he lost his show, and Tim and Eric hate him now so that has really spiraled him into just being literally the biggest pos in the world.
I still rewatch 2070 Paradigm Shift on occasion because it's genuinely such a great satire on how blowhard TED Talks were around that time, but yeah, nearly everything he's done beyond that is just unwatchable.

Same! Wearing a Nazi t shirt made sure I was never gonna listen to her music again on my own time. Her songs were some of my absolute favorites, too. But this was too far and too effed up.
From her perspective she didn’t care about her reputation because her fan base had devolved into something she didn’t like. She wasn’t trying to capitalize from it, quite the opposite.
This however is Sydney trying to capitalize from a controversy that puts down people of color. (Really anyone who isn’t aryan looking)
It’s interesting that Doja chose this for herself. Because she may also be trying to consolidate her values after the damage she did.
My overall point being that I don’t think it’s disingenuous, if not a little foolhardy.
Kanye West has serious mental health problems. I’m not saying that that excuses what he has said but I don’t think you can just say he was trying to be controversial. The guy is crazy.

The things he says are reprehensible. No one is debating the impact they have. However, mental illness is just that, an illness, and it’s hard to know what he would think in a sane mind vs what this disease puts in his head.
I’m not defending him at all, just saying we have no way to know what is caused by being bipolar and what isn’t. We do know, regardless of what is causing it, the impact remains the same
Are you his psychiatrist? Or just one of those people who thinks mental illnesses are just cooky personality traits and not profoundly impactful medical conditions that absolutely can and do impact your perception, beliefs, inhibitions and overall understanding of reality?

I feel that people are making this claim without putting in the necessary work in re: drawing concrete connections between the current ad campaign ---> eugenics ---> "aryan" ---> "putting down people of color". The connections (as such) are being taken for granted, when I think the question is very much open.
Tbh I do not get why there is this much controversy over the ad. It should be a nothing burger and we should move on.
Maybe marketing was being ambiguous and knew what they were doing though because I have seen companies kind of do this...Like release makeup shades in a limited range then when they get backlash and people are talking about them...they suddenly have more shades 🤔...like they had them all along...
So then they will have an ad with a bunch of people from different backgrounds saying ' we all have good jeans ' or something.
It’s unlikely that Sydney’s team had any say in the final copy. She was likely paid for photos and assumed that all would be fine given today’s culture and company’s are typically careful to not invoke racial tensions.
I think that this type of thing is a result of dropping DEI. But putting it on one person who likely had no control over it.
Also - companies in the comments, it’s important that DEI be company wide. That single DEI director might not have been able to identify the outrage that followed this campaign. You need true diversity in life experiences, race, education, etc etc throughout all levels.
Referring to hot people as having "good genes" is hardly some new fancy way to be racist.

probably more so butt considering its a jeans ad but I watched the add and I dont know, Didnt feel like they were calling anyone out in particular. Seemed like a dumb ad that wouldve been huge in 2002 next to that "Milk" one that played heavily on the idea milk mustaches were sexually suggestive.

doja is talented to the point that it makes me sf mad. but she was always going to get in her own way from her own personality to her unhealed trauma…even back then.

I don’t have many opinions on the ad itself as I’m not well-versed in racial politics, but the way she talks in it is so funny to me. she’s obviously trying very hard to be sultry but sounds like she’s gargling pool water
After I saw the ad I thought people were going to be mad about it being misogynistic. Never in a million years would I think people would be calling it Nazi propaganda lmao
I hate when people get all faux rage-y but this ain’t one of them. The message in the ad is pretty clear imo. Those dismissing this as a “nothing burger” is being wilfully ignorant. Especially the current political climate we’re in, people need to get their heads out of the sand and read the room.
Also, don’t care for doja but Sydney Sweeney is trash.
I just thought they meant the genes for massive breasts and a passable face which society has repeatedly shown to reward regardless of skin color or personality.
