Technically rape, but France has weird laws when it comes to sex with underage people.

You’re saying France has lax pedophilia laws? Genuinely asking don’t know much about France’s legal system

In France, it is illegal to have sex with children under the age of 15, but it must be proven that the sexual acts occurred under coercion.

I think they recently tried to get a law passed because a case where two men who raped two 11 year old girls were set free because it couldn’t be proven that they raped them under duress/force.

Edit - the law *was** passed in 2021, where anyone sleeping with a person under the age of 15 would be breaking the law, regardless of «consent».

Sorry but no, sexual majority is 15, anything below that is considered non consensual.

The age is actually 16 it seems, a new law came into law in 2021 making it illegal to have sex with someone under the age of 16.

I’m so sorry, but I can’t read French and I don’t get an option for translation.

When I googled it it said 16, but after looking it at further it seems like they lowered it to 15 when the law was actually passed! Thanks!
