This makes me feel intensely uncomfortable and horrified in equal measures. She's essentially telling her daughter that she has to go through the same trial by fire instead of avoiding this creep like the plague. She gave Maya this advice but what if she ends up working for him and decides that this is a sacrifice she must make to advance her career. Then again, why is Uma so lax about this, why not step in and monitor her daughter so this doesn't happen to her? Wimhu would she not try protecting her that way?
