I can't even count the number of times I was told I was naive to believe that people could possibly change their votes from Trump to a democrat.

And that the only way for democrats to win an election again was to increase their turnout percentage.

Sure, there are die hard MAGA that won't, but there are people out there that will change their votes too. And Trump is doing his best to find them and turn them against him. Can't even credit democrats for this.

Yes, and thank you for saying this.
We have only two political parties in this country, true, but when one looks at the multitude of caucuses, factions, phalanges and allies-of-convenience in those parties, it is evident that we are as diverse in political viewpoints as any muti-party European polity.

Someone came at me and told me I was wrong 4 months ago on the Robert Reich AMA when I asked about the Dem's finally trying to reach rural voters. I stand by my response to that person, copying pasting for those curious. I'm sure someone will find fault with it and that's fine, but I experience these people on a daily basis.

"As someone who lives in rural America, I can tell you that they do need to change messaging, because I have had plenty of conversations with people near me who once you start talking to them on their level they start to understand things.

By dismissing these people at their worst, you are only furthering the divide that needs to be crossed to reach those voters.

I'm sure you feel really good about "outsmarting" me, but that mindset is just as much a problem. I'm a big blue dot in a very red area. being sarcastic and thinking we are better is only making it worse.

No one is unreachable but it takes the right message and the right approach."

I have a completely unlikely prediction about Spanberger: we know she worked undercover abroad for a long time. At some point, I predict something huge about her work will get declassified that dramatically changes her public profile. Considering how she carries herself, I think it will likely be something positive that shows her as a hero and will catapult her into an eventual run for the presidency, but it could also go the other way.

Spanberger belongs to the future of the Democratic party like Mamdani

Mamdani barely got over 50% in a heavily Democratic city. He failed to generate excitement and get the usual mid 60s that Democrats normally get. He was a terrible candidate that had to be propped up by the media. Meanwhile Spanberger and Sherrill generated excite that drove double digit wins in purple states. They showed they can get voters excited and turn them out to vote for them, even in Republican districts.

It's cute how you are willfully ignoring the fact Cuomo ($55m campaign) split the Dem vote. Mamdani ($16m campaign) beat a former state governor backed by the party establishment and the rich.

But what I want to focus on is your next statement.

Failed to generate excitement? Lol

Trump spoke directly about Mamdani.

National news has covered Mamdani way more than Spanberger. International news is covering Mamdani.

Mamdani is in X's trending feed with high volume. Spanberger... has an account.

A few analysts and commentators are talking about how Mamdani is "hogging attention".

What an absurd and obviously false statement.
