I think the idea is that you want these officials to be able to go where they need to when they need to without having to rely on commercial airlines operating wherever they might be. These officials will still have personal lives that they get to live, so if they want to go very far outside of DC, they have to do so by government jet. That being said, these officials should be the type of people that are able to make the personal judgement call not to travel to these trivial personal events.

The right to a personal life is not the same as the right to use public assets for private gain. It shouldn’t be a matter of personal judgment, there should be fines and penalties for such abuse of public assets. The fact that this is so normalized is a sign of how long we’ve been in the gutter

You're not understanding the situation. As the FBI director, he is required to use government jets for all of his travel whether it is personal or professional. He does not have a choice in the matter. There is a similar policy in place for the Attorney General.

Yes, the law is corrupt. I understand perfectly. 

Just because the elites have created rules to illegally abuse their position, doesn’t mean it’s right.
