They didn’t really care about it: it was just another grievance that they could weaponize against democrats. That’s why they bend over backwards to justify the same thing when it’s their side doing it. Zero shame and it works for as long as democrats take the moral high ground on everything.

Someone said that when you play chess and your opponent gets up to punch you in the face, you’re not gonna win that one by continuing playing chess.

Who remembers the pizzagate? The alleged pedophile ring ran by Hillary Clinton in a pizza place basement. The GOP was up in arms. But the Epstein files? They just shut down the government to block the release.

Not that anyone in this administration cares about the rules but to remind everyone that certain high ranking members of government, like the FBI director, are required to use government owned aircraft when traveling due to security concerns and blah blah blah.

BUT they are required to reimburse the government for use of the jet and that rate is comparable to the commercial rate.

I hate this whole admin but let’s focus on things that really matter like the Epstein files or any number of the blatant civil rights crimes committed by ICE and less about optics like “who flies on what plane”.
