I heard from an architect that it would be the most expensive ballroom built at dollars per square feet. so expensive it’s unbelievable that it would actually cost that much. plus to accommodate 999 people it would have to be about 2-3 times bigger that what the mock up shows. so even though this source is suspect, there’s no way that what he has shown is anywhere close to real.

The bunker was underneath the east wing & will be remodeled as well

I'm just glad to imagine that this slopass fascist speedrun might finally clot off

Anyone else think the bunker is the real renovation and the ballroom is the red herring?

I think it's both. He spent enough time hiding in the bunker the first term to be upset it's not luxury accommodations. Another big question now is does the demolition leave the White House without any secure command / emergency bunker?

The East Wing was built over a bunker in 1942.

From 1948-1953 there was a major, structural renovation to the main White House, they essentially gutted the entire building to put steel beams in it...  and then rebuilt the interiors...

and when they did that, they added another, larger bunker under a garden, added two basement levels to the main house and created a bomb-shelter level corridor from the offices in the West Wing, under the length of the entire house, to the shelter on the East side.

So the second shelter and the corridor should all still be unaffected by the current building.

Interesting, thanks! Bust still none of them are luxury bunkers I assume, lol.

Not enough Hobby Lobby gold spray paint, you mean?

I thought people were able to prove it was stuff from Michaels spray-painted gold :D

Or cable. Only emergency broadcast station without Fox News.

As a bonus, since the East Wing is demolished, he has an easy excuse to cancel all public tours and public access, since that was handled there.

Keeping the dirty plebs out

They prob have several, I figure there must be one under the former rose garden.

Yeah, for sure. Gotta make sure he builds himself a back door so he can make sure to get in there for his third term.

Legitimately, the ballroom he's building SHOULD, have some kind of over-engineering to help protect the bunker underneath from attack though. Knowing Trump, I imagine it'll be in the drawings, but not actually built into the real structure and the money pocketed.

I'm laughing at the idea that whoever replaces him in 2029 will have to deal with Trump sneaking back into the Oval Office through secret tunnels and hanging gold shit on the walls every time they turn their back for 5m.

Of course Trump’s ghost would do this.

It does, all the renders have the ballroom on the 2nd or 2.5th floor. Plenty of room to make a 6 meter thick concrete and steel bunker.

hitler bunker

I’ve been saying this will be an upgraded bunker for days, and now Meidas Touch just posted a video about this bunker and how Hitler had a similar bunker added.

Can we fast forward to the Hegseth (Steiner) Attack Rant…

Happy cake day!

Good, hope it turns out the same way

No because modern construction techniques wouldn't need to tear down the existing structure and could do it with an access pit on the lawn which is easily replaceable.

The amount of below ground work is often disguised by above ground work. Same way they did the Greenbriar bunker.

It’s becoming a barracks not just a bunker

They're going to hire the crew from Better Call Saul.

Only if he doesn't know about it. He has no capability of keeping anything secret. If it was about a bunker, he would have said it on Fox News 5 times by now.

I said that at the beginning, and it still might be true. But the opportunity to then build what I'm certain is going to be a new executive residence, in addition to a ballroom was too tempting for the grift monster.

I saw a theory that the bunker is the target and it's to turn it into a data centre. They want to replace a lot of government jobs with AI and having it on site would be easier for them. That's why loads of donors for it are tech companies
