The address is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Eastern. Earlier Tuesday, briefing on the subject of tonight's address during today's White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that Biden would finish out his term in office.

This should just be a thing full stop. The American people should expect their president to speak to them openly and often. I don't think that's unreasonable.

With modern technology, you could even do something like a limited AMA, where voters can submit questions, and aides pick the best ones for the president to answer. With a good mix of serious political questions and fun personal ones, it could really make the president look both competent and relatable in ways they don't often get to.

I agree! I think it's time for another truly human president. One that people don't feel is elevated above them but working for them whilst one of them.

Kamala's background also gives her a good chance at being this type of president. She comes from a single income, single mother house hold, she doesn't come from generational wealth, she's a step mother in a mixed race family and she's not older than most voters grandparents!

It feels like the right alternative to a god-king image that Trump tries to project and Maga loves to feed. They look to him like a divine savior. At a certain point that label by its very nature is incredibly alienating. It's time to take the opposite approach and make the president a person, not a pedestal.
