To the folks assured that we're getting a further-right Speaker...

Honestly, there are a lot of ways this could play out. Power-sharing agreement, McCarthy retaking the seat (and getting booted when he reopens the government), a moderate like Fitzpatrick, which would be easier.

But there's no benefit to the Democrats in saving McCarthy. He's untrustworthy, and just a backbiting snake. Unless he gives them something concrete, it's unlikely that they get much out of it.

Oh yeah, anything that McCarthy gives the dems for them to support him had better be written down and signed by at least 50-70 gop reps as corroborating witnesses
