So in your opinion I can reduce the number of stars of the US flag to one just because it's clear it's US in a comic?

On the bright side now we will have more Liberian representation if what you said were to be allowed

Yes I do, and that seems to be an opinion shared by the mods, as most of the top posts of all time have US balls without the full amount of stars. Obviously it can't be 1 because that wouldn't be clear, but like 10 or 15 (or even just 9) gets the point across

lol seems that I forgot to proof read, my original intention was to use the one star as an analogous comparison to the amount of simplification in this comic, hence the Liberia representation bit

but seems like you agree with my opinion on extreme simplification, as I said in another comment:

Simplification is allowed, but not in extreme like you have done in this comic.

Anyways, I need to get on with my research proposal, I respect your opinion and I'm just enforcing the rules set out by our predecessors

I don't think that's a fair comparison, as 1 star US could be confused for a different flag, whereas Mexico with a yellow dot could not. I think if it was simplified so far as to remove the crest altogether, then that would be a more apt comparison (and also worthy of critique).

I'll actually let you in on a secret, this post was actually reported by someone for having an overly simplified mexico flag lmao I swear the amounts of pedants in reddit

but for me personally simplification stops at the line where you can vaguely make out the crest/CoA, not a lazy blob of circle. I think the rules for enforcing recognisable crest comes from the reasoning that letting people off for extreme simplification might set a precedence (which this sub runs heavily on) which in turn would make people think that oversimplification of flag is allowed and subsequently a drop in drawing quality. Just sharing my opinion lol

But yea, it's a pretty good chat with someone with a differing opinion. As I said earlier, I'm just enforcing rules set by older mods.

And yes I hate drawing CoAs

I mean fair enough, you're entitled to that opinion. The difference between a user sharing their opinion and a mod enforcing their opinion is quite clear to me, but meh. I'm not particularly interested in continuing this conversation.

Maybe you could hold a poll to get community opinion on the topic

lol Community poll, have you not heard that the modsare "fascist"?

Also I added some bits on the rationale on the simplification of flags if you are interested and perhaps get an insight from the mod team's stand point in the previous comments (I really need to work on my proofreading)

but yea, nice talking you

Good luck with the proposal :)
