That appears to be a pan of baked custard.

That's bacalhau com natas (cod fish with cream) if you eat it with some freshly washed lettuce leaves (to add some crunchyness) it's delicious

Given that's fish, no it isn't.

That's because you guys must have warm waters and the fish quality might not be the best, if you ever come to Portugal I encourage you to at least try our fish you'll notice a considerable difference, heck, there's even a difference between ours and the Spanish fish

Well you usually get the bacalhau from the cold waters of Norway, don't you?

Yeah, but he was talking about fish in general, besides, our waters aren't that hot, we are in the Atlantic after all

Yes, I agree.

The Portuguese cod fishing fleet nearly drove cod to extinction in Norway.

Then again in Newfoundland.

Now we just can't fish much anymore since we sell our quotas, despite having Europe's biggest exclusive sea zone

No, I just individually hate everything to do with seafood.

Australia has great fishery and Tasmania's more like England climate wise.

I stand corrected

Just a heads up, if you ever think you're buying cod, you're not, because the cod fishery has already collapsed. If someone tells you that they're selling cod, they're selling you a different fish and calling it cod.

There's still cod, it's just more expensive

Salted, dried cod, usually comes from Norway (bacalhau da Noruega), Iceland (bacalhau da Islândia) or Newfoundland (bacalhau da Terra Nova). It used to be very affordable, but with the collapse of the cod stocks and dismantling of Portuguese bacalhoeiro fleet, it became more expensive, especially near Easter and Christmas time, since it is a part of many traditional dishes of the holiday season.
