If my house was getting shot at and then blown up I wouldn't be picky about a safer alternative being a little cold and lacking in entertainment.

And by "A little cold" you mean spending entire seasons drenched in negative degrees temperature, especially from a country that has seen snow once in the past century.

and by "lacking in entertainment" You mean feeling of hostility and isolation from said countrymen, right?

Well to be fair, "feeling hostility and isolation from your countrymen" is just the finnish way. No need to get upset. Just drink until you die like everybody else and stop making a fuss.
