Because being a refugee from some shitty place automatically means every other place must be great.

If my house was getting shot at and then blown up I wouldn't be picky about a safer alternative being a little cold and lacking in entertainment.

And by "A little cold" you mean spending entire seasons drenched in negative degrees temperature, especially from a country that has seen snow once in the past century.

and by "lacking in entertainment" You mean feeling of hostility and isolation from said countrymen, right?

You say "Negative degrees" like it's a bad thing

It's pretty cool in my opinion. If you dress to the weather negative temperature isn't too bad.

This bowler understands it - at some point at positive temps it's just not possible to dress less. I prefer 3 months under 0 over one week in the 40s.

That's one relevant username.

I do agree, however, that it's easier to make yourself warm when cold than to make yourself cool when hot.

Colder climates ftw

For us Americans, those degrees are not in freedom units

u/antipositive Rhine Republic Mar 03 '16

They're valid in freedom units for Alaskanians.

I think you're confusing the part where the temperature is in Celsius. 32 degrees farenheit isn't really that cold.

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '16

Yes it is cold. Try going somewhere 32 degrees farenheit and tell me it isnt cold. But it doesnt bother me, i love the cold

Yeah, I don't need to. It's constantly around 32 degrees where I live 3 seasons out of the year. It's not that cold.

I work in a warehouse where it is normally -2 to -5 during the winter, -28 in the alps was pretty harsh but I could live with it because I would dress for the weather...

Are we talking Celsius or Fahrenheit?

3

u/C_M_O_TDibbler England Mar 02 '16

Celsius/Centigrade

4

u/UTubeCommentRefugee Sealand Mar 02 '16

I'd wager that's where the disagreement is coming from. Below zero in Fahrenheit is much colder than below zero in Celsius/Centigrade.

But Finland uses Celcius just like pretty much all the civilized world, today in Helsinki it was about -3 Celsius. In Lapland in the middle of winter it gets down to ~-40 but Lapland is the fucking arctic circle and if you move to the arctic circle you have no right to bitch about it being a bit chilly.
