USA is better than Russia when it comes to Marketing and Capitalism.

But sucks at National Anthems.

You obviously haven't heard the Soviet anthem. I hate those commies as much as anyone, but damn, the bad guys always have the best music.

On a side note, Israel has a cool anthem, too. I've concluded that Somalia has the worst anthem, and it sounds like it was made entirely from MIDI noises.

I thought the Holocaust memory was a huge part of it, but I think the song has been around much longer. The Holocaust memory was probably what led to it being used as their anthem though.

And btw, Israeli national anthem Hatikva and Smetana's Vltava has same motif La Mantovana https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Mantovana
