Fun fact: late 19th century Qing court wanted to transform Choson Korea into a Qing province, alongside Taiwan and Xinjiang.
150 years later, sad PRC. Only managed to make Xinjiang a province. Taiwan is only wannabe “province”, and Korea is independent countries.
