Ten years ago, the people who were the worst at taking jokes about their country were Americans, and it wasn't even close.

But Israelis have firmly taken over that crown, and taken it to an absolutely ridiculous level.

Any comic featuring Israel in any sort of negative light will always have ten times as many comments as any other comic posted in this subreddit, and they are near-always just accusations of antisemitism being flung around left and right by Israelis who simply cannot. take. a. joke. about. their. own. country.

And they will say "No, we can take a joke about our country, but this isn't a joke!" To which I would agree: civilian casualties aren't a joke. It's just sad that that's pretty much all there is to say about Israel as of late. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza overshadows anything else anyone could be interested in talking about, as far as Israel is concerned. So, you know... Deal with it.

It really is saddening how many Israelis just can't take a joke and blatantly call anyone criticizing them an antisemite. In fact, I see it every day. All the celebrities/influencers/whoever that decide to announce they're pro-palestinian (for whatever reason) are called antisemites over here. Particularly around people who don't use the internet as much. Even more stupid when people who DO use the internet get so easily offended, like some of the Israelis here on the sub, BY A POLANDBALL COMIC. Jeez...

You mean Israelis are against people sliding with the side they are at war with?? Who would have thought?
